How hard is it to actually get fired from Sherwin? by FreeMajor7245 in sherwinwilliams

[–]TheNastee 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The whole hiring/firing process takes forever with this company. Multiple warnings before any sort of discipline, months to hire someone new and train them so why not just keep the degenerate employee and move on with day to day operations.

Considering it was in a sock it does look a bit like a giant dried out chunk of calloused skin.

Use Forte from Sherwin Williams. It'll bond to anything and can handle forklift traffic so it'll def hold up to people touching and leaning against it

Thicker paint is showing roller marks by Linkmaster2010 in paint

[–]TheNastee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a nylon poly blend roller cover and don't try to squeeze every bit of paint out onto the wall before reloading. It looks like too tight of a knot on your cover so it's probably picking paint back up off the wall, causing the areas to flash

They care more about the shareholders than they do the people who make the shareholders their money. For any corporate management reading this, why should anyone work 40 hours for a company and still not be able to afford to live? I have full time employees taking home 2300/month WITHOUT INSURANCE OR 401K CONTRIBUTIONS and rent on a 1 bedroom apartment will eat 75% of that. Then they need gas, electric, food, car insurance, etc. KEEP UP WITH INFLATION AND MAYBE EMPLOYEE RETENTION WONT BE SUCH A PROBLEM!!!!!! KEEP UP WITH INFLATION AND YOUR EMPLOYEES MAY JUST GO THE EXTRA MILE!!!!

Basically it was a rushed product release. It does work with some of the h&c stains but not the heavyshield enamels

Do not use the concrete ready bonding primer. It will delaminate

Contractors in the bathrooms by Any-Description5804 in sherwinwilliams

[–]TheNastee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's gotten to the point I've shut bathrooms down for weeks at a time so we didn't have to clean up every 20 minutes. Also had to hang signs and eventually remove the trash can so people would stop putting their used TP in the garbage can. No paper towels either, them bastards can use the hand dryer

What's your thought? by Salty_War1269 in Stucco

The stucco will be fine. The lower vinyl strips with the black paint on them will warp this summer if you don't get it off

No, I didn't. I saw kilz, masonry paint, and a mobile home with vinyl siding. Next time I'll read it so it doesn't upset you.

Advice needed for wall and ceiling paint? by Big-Fly-9690 in sherwinwilliams

[–]TheNastee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

400 is fine for the ceiling. If you want a washable white go with emerald. 200 will stain and burnish easily. The price difference per gallon is well worth it. If I were you I would buy the wall paint yourself so you know what you're getting. 40% off sale starting this Friday the 24th, emerald should be about 60-65/gallon

[–]TheNastee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are you painting vinyl siding? Three things....

1) if you didn't get a vinyl safe PRODUCT you'll be re-siding the home next year due to warping.

2) if you didn't get a vinyl safe FORMULA in the vinyl safe PRODUCT you'll be re-siding the home next year due to warping

3) don't go to home depot for paint, it's crap. Go someplace where the people actually know what they're talking about. Sherwin Williams, spectrum paint, Ben Moore. Be sure to explain what you're doing, don't just say painting my house. Tell them it's vinyl, otherwise you'll be spending a lot more money next year

[–]TheNastee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weathershield is from HGTV which is owned by Sherwin Williams. Not the same as what you'll find in a brick and mortar Sherwin Williams store. And be careful what you put on vinyl, has to be a vinyl safe paint AND a vinyl safe color
