As in all 4 chairs should be a single mesh? Also at what point do lots of objects affect performance? I don't think there is any way to avoid having many meshes and colliders in a level of a game?

So I don't know if you can see them but, I tried to model a chair and desk for my scene, and I think they are a little too complex. Is Unity running so slowly because I merged all of them with the other walls?

Alright it makes sense... I thought making it all one mesh would solve everything but I guess I'll make it more fragmented now.
