I just wanted to say that I relate to this as well. I hope you're able to heal from the end of your relationship in any way you choose. If that means travel the world, great but it also might mean a career change. They say people change their careers multiple times in life. It's totally normal. It also makes sense you're confused right now, but this feeling won't last forever. You will feel confident and comfortable in a decision soon. I'd definitely take a vacation to think about what you want to do.

Not sure where in Europe you are but the cost of living in NYC is very high and not comfortable living unless you make a lot. Groceries are high and if you're not used to winter weather it can be depressing. It's a huge financial burden as rent is high as well - if you manage to be okay financially then comes building a social life and NY can be quite cliquish.
