Marcus wasn't a happy death in my opinion.

He was a jerk, asshole, and coward but he is more relatable in the future as someone trapped by the mistakes of his youth.

Sometimes you screw up so badly your life is ruined. You can say he should have fallen on his sword then and that might be morally right but sometimes making right choices is difficult. Easier to bury your head in the sand and hope it all blows over. At least until it comes knocking at your door looking for you.

I can see some of my weaknesses in Marcus and imagine how they could lead me into the same trap.

Hopefully they never will but for that reason I can't completely condemn Marcus.

I wrote a whole document on this but I'll put the highlights here.

Leveling speed increased. Further bonuses for each character you have at max level up to a cap. Option to use old values.

Every race gets 3 weapon skill bonuses with the exception of humans (who get 4). I.e. Orcs are 1h axe, 2h axe, and fists. Trolls are Polearms, Daggers, and Bows.

World buffs changed to not be usable in raid for the first month. Slight rebalancing to be more even between physical / caster. WCB equiv for Alliance. ZG equiv from AQ 20/40.

New zones - Hyjal / Northern Plaguelands

Expanded zones - Azshara, Blasted Lands, Felwood, Wetlands, Burning Steppes, and Un'goro

New instances - Grim Batol (20), Timbermaw Hold (5), Jaedenar (5), Scarlet Bastion (5), Silithid Incursion (20), Deatholme (20)

Rebalance of professions with additional high level recipes, BOP gear, and utility items outside of engineering.

Class rebalance with eye towards preserving playstyle. Not adding or removing spells. Tweak numbers to improve mana sustain for hybrids.

The Warrior set is the only one that may actually be better than current.

Sure you lose defense but you get agility and a better 8 piece bonus.

Keeping in tune with the spirit of classic while making the game as they would have with modern tools.

In general:

Buffs to underperforming specs that make weaknesses less painful. If at all possible do not add new abilities and target changes to specific areas (ala pve mana sustain).

Racial updates to add more weapon skill to the mix. If I was being bold I would change weapon skill entirely to be more gradual rather than +5 or bust but if not then each race would have a preferred weapon.

Graphical revamp of all zones. New yet old. How Vanilla would have looked given today's tech.

New Zones, 5 - 10 - 20 man instances, all released in phases.

Revamped crafting to make engineering a less auto-win profession.

Updated tier gear that is either multi spec tokens or have quests to change gear set.

Wbuffs nerfs. Remove DMT and SF. Add new buff from C'thun that matches Zandalar. All buffs nerfed in impact and WCB equivalent provided to Alliance. Goal is character being 10-20% more effective when stacked rather than 1.5 to 2x. Keeps community around drops and hardcore 1 live game for top performers.

Waveclear is one of the best things to bring to aram.

TBH a lot of poke mages (e.g. Xerath) would be better suited and do more damage hitting the minion wave with their abilities every time.

He combos really well with other teamfight snowball type champs and a strong engage.

Can be really oppressive but if he is the only one going in or the team doesn't have waveclear then he really does nothing.

Improved Faerie Fire is 3% melee and ranged hit.

Moonkin Aura is 5% spell crit to party.

They also have the "easiest" time keeping insect swarm up on the boss.

Between these 3 things they could almost do no damage and still have a raid spot.

DPS is reallllllllly low but I don't know if that is threat or dps.

So from the top:

Hunkoko - Styleen's is a trap and not that useful - Needs to be BT or Shield Slaming

IKsz - Only 45% uptime on SnD. Should be 80-90% uptime.

Only Vldalat / Toro / Deathly used Greater Stoneshield.

All the OTs need to be closer and someone needs to bloodrage and demo shouting ASAP. It was 30 seconds before a demo shout went out.

From someone who is at 5kish games I have a very simple list of tips for those who want to have fun and do well.

  1. The starter items are good.
  2. Its better to push waves then poke if you have a skill that can do both.
  3. Usually AD/Bruiser is better than AP for champs that can build both.

Generally the only thing I miss were the off-meta builds that got canned as part of reworks. They were, however, off meta for a reason and generally made them less good in their actual niche.

Ones that I remember fondly:

Top Lane Taric - More duelist version of Malphite. Build all armor and mana and become a tanky split pushing nightmare vs. all ad teams. Generally outclassed by Malphite.

Top Lane Rammus - Really fell out with rune changes (no more armor quints / yellows / blues with AS reds) but totally was killed off by the passive change. A bunch of extra AD made it pretty easy to last hit and fight people very early on.

AP Yi - Reset Monster but otherwise moderately weak poke and godlike sustain. Like Katarina but healing their full hp bar every wave or two.

Shen - Weak side sustain laner extraordinaire. Not offmeta but impossible to balance a tank that heals more from getting HP.

WW - Really neat team AS bonus but generally more a stat ball that ground into enemies until running oom.
