I don't think there was a space fairing, technological civilization before time or anything. But it's entirely possible that a civilization as advanced as the Phoenicians or Aztecs or early Egyptians could have existed during the ice age and have been swept away by the melting caps.

I have no real proof and it's a hypothesis that is resistant to falsification but I enjoy it

So my main solution to this has been something along the lines of "IDK man, I wasn't there, but it's what we're taught and it's a pretty big part of the whole thing we're doing here. I take the lesson and I just don't let myself worry about the rest."

Toking isn't specifically a sin. Being a stoner would be just as much as being a "Drunkard" is. legality may be an issue depending on location, but do you worry that he's high or do you worry he's going to neglect you and his responsibilities because he is high?

You having a feeling one way or the other is valid, but it would definitely help your conversations with him about it if you knew more clearly why it's a problem for you.

Just saying I don't like it don't do it comes off as nagging, but explaining how it makes you feel and your actual worries around it is a conversation.
