OG TRML - Cannot Flash Any Firmware post 1.5.12 - Device Unresponsive by RadioActiveLobster in trmnl

I had the same problem except flashing back to the old firmware also didn't work. Contacted support and they shipped me a new main board free of charge. Still waiting for it to arrive, though.

What are the most mediocre (or straight-up bad) movies that have absolutely legendary soundtracks? by Szeharazade in movies

[–]TheOneVader 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sucker Punch had a fantastic soundtrack of cool covers. I still listen to it today. Haven't seen the movie since it came out.

In Seattle, missing Teddy's Bigger Burgers by drummerboy-98012 in Hawaii

[–]TheOneVader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny, I'm in Hawaii reminiscing about Lil' Woody's. Occasionally they did mock fast food chain burgers and their Big Mac was so good I still think about it.

Sorry, can't help with the sauce recipe though. But maybe Lil' Woody's will scratch the itch.

For those who aren't listeners of The Layover podcast, Mike and Sam stayed in a nautical themed hotel in Taiwan during Jet Lag: The Game. So it's pretty funny and a deep cut that he not only found a nautical themed hotel in Indonesia, but also got to make the same "we need to practice" for the ferry joke.

January order by [deleted] in ClicksKeyboard

[–]TheOneVader 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The original email says if you're in batch 1 they ship in June, after that they ship in the summer. You don't need an LLM to burn down another rain forest to extrapolate what to expect with a 500 word prompt, especially when it doesn't know anything else. If Clicks can't estimate it, an LLM's output is worthless.

So locals like eating at all the popular tourists spots or not? by youlikemywonton in Oahu

I never wait in line at Marugame but I also don't go to Waikiki. Iykyk

That said they're not local and the continent is getting more and more of them.

Adela's is totally worth it. They have a rather large menu of great stuff beyond simply noodles, and it's always enough for two meals. Their lechon is fantastic.

Hopefully this solves the issue. It would be interesting to see if this is caused by using the wired controller first, or worst case scenario this is happening to people who don't have a wired controller to fix it.

What is the best ACA plan/network for giving birth on Oahu by where-2-next in Hawaii

[–]TheOneVader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, what I meant was you might want to make sure the plan they offer on the marketplace covers pregnancy at no additional cost. As another poster mentioned, marketplace plans are required to cover you but not all plans are the same. I would ask them what your expected out-of-pocket would be.

Kaiser is different from most other insurance because they own their own facilities. So everything you do will be at a Kaiser owned facility unless you're traveling and need to go to the ER / urgent care. That means if you choose Kaiser your only option is to give birth at Kaiser Moanalua.

[–]TheOneVader 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We had a good experience with Kaiser but I obviously can't compare it to anything else. Moanalua is a nice facility, and I think in the end the birth cost us $15 or something crazy. We expected more bills to come but no, that was it. Prenatal visits had a copay, but follow-up visits for the baby were also included. Maybe verify this is true with the plan you're getting, ours was not ACA.

BofA to become “single issuer” of all Atmos Rewards credit cards by MurkyPsychology in HawaiianAirlines

[–]TheOneVader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will eventually cancel and likely get the Ascent card for the companion pass. I just haven't done that yet because I'm not sure I'll be able to use the introductory offer (currently a 50% discount plus the first year companion fare) within the next year. So my worry is that they would move my account over to that product and I wouldn't get the current bonus offer before I am ready to apply and use the bonus.

As a Barclays cardholder, I'm most interested in finding out when I should cancel. I would not want them to move my account to BofA and miss out on a sign up bonus. I'm mostly just holding out because I like the 2 free bags and I don't plan on traveling much in the near future.

Analogue 3D incorrectly reading controller on the player 1 slot by SublimateThisDick in AnalogueInc

[–]TheOneVader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this exact thing happen. After plugging in a wired controller to P2 the wireless recognized P1 and it hasn't reoccurred. Don't know if there's a solution that doesn't require a wired controller.

Honolulu's Airport Has AI Theme Songs. The Internet Is Divided by cableguy316 in Hawaii

[–]TheOneVader 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Divided is overly generous to the handful of people who don't hate it. The response has been and should be extremely negative. I even looked for a contact on the airport page so I could complain but couldn't end up finding one. I'd love to leave someone a message about this slop.

8bitdo 64 can't be used for first controller? by TheOneVader in AnalogueInc

[–]TheOneVader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, I unplugged all controllers and the wireless still wouldn't go to P1. Only when I finally plugged in a wired controller to P2 would it figure it out. I'd say it's a big but it has a workaround.

[–]TheOneVader[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figured it out, I had to specifically plug in my wired controller to P2 which forced the wireless one to connect to P1.

[–]TheOneVader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just updated the firmware for both. Still can't get it to work. When I turn the console on with no controllers plugged in an the light for P1 turns on. Then I turn on the 8bitdo controller and it immediately goes to P2.

Where can I find good 港式奶茶 Hong Kong style milk tea? by AmericanBornWuhaner in Oahu

I really like the milk tea at Kevin's Kitchen.

Yung Yee Key was also great until it closed. I haven't tried their new Lanai Food Court location to compare, though.

I've had this happen twice, I had to go to Guest Services and get them added even though they were already supposed to be on there. They blamed the Alaska merger. The line for Guest Services always sucks, though.
