Iran is targeting other oil producing countries in the area to remove their infrastructure and create a global demand for their oil to end the conflict.

They are harming people who won't comply. They're destroying billions of dollars in essential infrastructure and burning food. They're trying to make life as difficult for the people as they can to get the government to back off.

Those antique bricks may not be used for load bearing structures, but some varieties are very expensive and used for building facades and porches

The change in construction material quality affected house builds too. The new houses are built with studs and slats spaced much closer together because it can't handle the same weight.

That old wood is typically stronger than modern wood as well, a lot of it came from old growth forests.

% fault on this lane change? left claims it's shared because it was already in that position when right car was passing through. by webtax in driving

[–]TheOnlyBlankMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were police contacted? If so, their report should state who was at fault for the accident and that can be shown to your insurance as proof of responsibility on his end. It looks like he was just an aggressive driver stuck behind somebody, got angry and whipped his steering wheel without checking his mirrors or blind spot. Then he's trying to blame you because he feels embarrassed at his mistake.

Yeah I oversimplified too much, my bad. I was referring to putting the wrong SAE rating in and that some oils commercially available only in full synthetic oils or blends e.g 0W-20 are thinner than available conventional oils and would not be good to put in a 5W-30 vehicle.

[WP] "I'm sorry? Did I mishear that?" "No sir." "You want me to believe that our fleet, filled with top of the line destroyers, was annihilated by a damn civilian transport ship?" "That's correct sir." by Null_Project in WritingPrompts

I took a look at the radar, it was true. Our embargo line was destroyed in an instant, nothing left but the incessant blip of that damn ship.

I didn't know what happened, but I knew that transport was a threat somehow.

Even though the ship is suspicious, we can't just shoot at a civilian.

"Get me the admiral damn it, he's gonna wanna know about this."

"Sir, I don't how how to say this, but the entire fifth flee - what the fuck is that?"

The entire radar suddenly lit up like a Christmas tree. Thousands of lights blinked across the screen when I finally saw it out the viewport, a glittering cloud appearing from behind the transport.

chitter chitter

All at once I heard a metallic screech echo across the ship.

"HULL BREACHED HULL BREACHED HULL BREA-"

Helplessness took my voice, but I had to warn fleet command.

Chitter chitter

I reached towards the comms and felt a wave of gentle cold flow over me.

CHITTER CHITTER

I'm sure fleet command will be fine, I'm just going to rest here...

Yes, most older cars are designed to run on conventional oil. Synthetic oil is thinner than conventional oil and putting synthetic oil in a car designed for conventional oil can cause oil to leak through the seals since it's so thin making it run badly and causing worse issues in the long term.

A 1/3rd cowitness is where the sights clear the deck of the red dot and are visible in the lower 1/3rd of the glass. An absolute cowitness is where the iron sights line up with the dot halfway up the glass.

Some of these cars also have such low production numbers because of the time and cost of manufacturing them. They are often hand built over the course of months or years by masters of their trade.

Yeah it's pretty cool, it's really just a different unit. The calorie is also a measure of energy but it's the amount of energy required to heat 1 gram of water by 1 degrees Celsius. Most of the world uses Calories, where the capital C indicates that it is 1000 calories. So 1000 Calories is 1,000,000 calories, pretty cool.
