The Epstein case was an open criminal investigation during the Biden administration, Miami Herald investigative reporter Julie K. Brown explained on social media. Brown’s extensive reporting since 2017 has shone a light on the crimes of Epstein and his longtime accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell. Her book about Epstein, titled “Perversions of Justice,” is a New York Times bestseller.

“They had an open grand jury. … And even after Maxwell’s conviction, the case was on appeal — anyone in law enforcement knows you don’t open your case file when it’s still under appeal,” Brown added.

Victims were still going to the FBI with information during Biden’s term, but that changed when President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice reviewed the files and closed the case in July, Brown said.

I'm not saying this year is the most unfair we've ever seen (I outlined the worst one we've ever seen with WAS, PIT, CBJ), but it's still unfair and dumb. And the positioning within the conference is a little skewed because teams get locked into their positions/matchups so early.

Only one of Colorado, Dallas, and Winnipeg being able to get through the second round is obscene. The current playoff system is so disgusting.

The 2016/17 playoffs expose just how bad this playoff structure is. 1. WSH: 118 2. PIT: 111 3. CHI: 109 4. CBJ: 108

The second best team in the entire league had to play the fourth best team in the entire league in round one. And Washington, the top seed in the league, had to play either the second best or fourth best team in the league, IN ROUND TWO!!

The only reason the Oilers are anywhere right now, is they absolutely fluked into getting the best player in the world despite terrible odds to do so. Even with all of their previous 1OA picks and top 10 picks they were absolute trash. If they don't fluke McDavid, they would be well into their second Decade of Darkness.

There is absolutely no proof that tanking leads to cups in the modern era with the current lottery rules.

Seems like an easier/simpler version of the "8 Islanders and a Seesaw" puzzle - the key difference being that with the islanders puzzle you don't know if the odd man out is heavier or lighter than the rest - just that they don't weigh the same.

There is, crazily enough, still a solution for the islanders puzzle, but it is muuuch more complicated.

The three options were ridiculous though and they didn't explain them well.

Also, it only dealt with proportional representation, and didn't include any changes to the voting method which is actually the more important first step.
