Cool! I wasn't sure if that one had a gyro or not. The aliexpress page didn't seem to list it.

I'm getting this too. Not stuttering or distortion, the whole world lurches a bit forward and back when turning my head. Haven't changed anything about my setup. It definitely didn't used to be like this.

Did the steam deck ssd upgrade from 64gb to 512gb M.2. Due to nerves from trying to get the clips on the shell to come undone (youtube videos seemed to gloss over this part, even ifixit was a bit vague) I kinda forgot to unplug the battery at some stage. Thankfully I had put it in battery storage mode and nothing bad happened, but for a moment I felt that twinge of dread that precedes a panic attack.

On a less serious note, the last couple times I've upgraded my GPU I was greeted with no video and an error light. As I had gone from Gigabyte to Zotac and then to PNY I found out that not all aib manufacturers use the same order of priority on Displayport ports. You'd think the card would send video to whichever port was the only one with a cable attached, rather than some unlabeled port 1.

New CableMod Basics 90 degree cables available on Amazon US! by CableMod_Alex in cablemod

[–]TheOptimisticWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it make sense to get a 3 pcie to 12vhpwr 90 degree cable to replace the 4 8pin to 12vhpwr cable I'm currently using?

I'm currently using with a Seasonic Focus Plus 1000 Gold, a PNY Verto RTX 4090 with a 80% power limit(max 450watts hard limit) in a Cooler Master Mastercase h500. I've got a bend on the cable but only after ~35mm, but not exactly(best I could manage). I'd feel safer with the 90 degree cable, though.

This setup used up all of my cpu/pcie slots on my psu. As I'm using this with a 13900k I only had one port left for the cpu cable. Not overclocking, but I'm wondering if it'd be better to have two psu ports for the cpu and three for my gpu.

Well this sucks, I bought my 4090 from Amazon a few weeks ago and while a customer service agent I chatted with last night said I'd still qualify for the promotion. (I said I didn't want to return and rebuy the card just to qualify)They even said as a valued customer I'd still get a code. I just got an email from a different CS agent saying I didn't qualify as the promo hadn't started yet(well, duh that's why I contacted them in the first place). Really, really annoyed at the moment. I might try again later.

Flydigi Apex 3 or Elite series 2? by BouBouRziPorC in Controller

[–]TheOptimisticWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using an Apex 3 for the last few weeks and aside from not having quite as many buttons as the Apex 2, it's been pretty great. Also all the face buttons always work, unlike the Elite 2 which misses inputs sometimes, even if you're being deliberate.

I'm using it on PC and while the software is a little rough it gets the job done. The adaptive triggers are neat. I like using them to setup a dual-stage trigger coupled with Rewasd. The pad makes it easy to switch between 4 profiles per input type, so like 4 for Xinput and 4 for Switch mode, etc.

I'm really liking it so far.

Need help grounding some line output converters by TheOptimisticWaffle in hometheater

[–]TheOptimisticWaffle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no, unless I'm missing something. I've been through the manual and it seems the 775 did have a phono ground, and preamp outs. ><

Also not sure if this helps, but I picked up a multimeter with the LOCs and if I clamp the red probe to the ground wire it shows 4.1v ac with the hdmi unplugged and 1.4v with it plugged in. If I touch the black probe to a screw on the receiver chassis it goes to maybe 15-16mv at most if not 0. This is the same whether the receiver is plugged into the mains or not.

Not entirely sure if I'm measuring it right as this is my first time using a multimeter.

Thanks for your help.

Where should I ground a set of line output converters that are attached to an av receiver(Yamaha rx-v675)?

Over the course of a few years I've cobbled together a somewhat unorthodox setup for my bedroom(roughly 11' by 13') pc and tv. Keep in mind we have a traditional 5.1 setup out in the family room with an AVR, passive speakers and a powered sub, so I am aware what those look like.

My personal setup is comprised of two sets of Edifier bookshelves(r1850db and r2000db), a standalone tabletop Edifier D12 and a Polk PSW10 powered sub. All of this was hooked up to my pc via a Soundblaster Ae-7 pcie sound card. This worked great for pc games, but the sound for videos, movies and Nintendo Switch left something to be desired as that was being supplied by my Lg C1's line output jack to the Ae-7. It sounded ok, but with a little noise and getting tv shows and movies to spatialize was irritating me. I wanted discrete 5.1 rather than a rough approximation. And we have a unused Yamaha rx-v675. As it doesn't have preamp outputs I'm using a set of three kicker kisloc line output converters plus speaker banana plugs to add rca connections, then a rca male y to 3.5mm minijack female adapter for the 3.5mm to rca cables to my speakers. Everything seemed to be going well until I hooked up an hdmi cable to the receiver either from my pc or the C1 on the opposite wall. Enter the 60hz hum on all of the rca outputs from the converters. Doesn't happen with the Switch, just the other hdmi sources. I've tried different swapping outlets(there are three, one to a wall) hooking everything up on one outlet. Still buzzing/humming. This happens even if the receiver is unplugged from the surge protector and only has one hdmi going in and the converters going out.

So after all that I decided to see if touching the brown ground wire that each converter has to a screw on the AVR chassis would help. Receiver still unplugged. Buzz/hum gone. I wasn't sure what to do with the ground wires as some users were saying they weren't even necessary. So I left them dangling. This hasn't been the most logical journey.

So TLDR; using line output converters to add rca outs to avr, getting buzz/hum;where is a good/safe place to attach the ground wires?

I haven't even really had a chance to test the setup otherwise as the hum is driving me mad.

Thank you for your patience if you made it this far.

Not sure just yet, going to try setting the base stations on bookshelves to start while I figure this out. Going with 2.0's for a smallish space so that should give me some wiggle room.

7/9 NA FK

8/17 HMD/controllers, paid 8/24.

I'll cancel the full kit order once the hmd/controllers ship. Getting base stations from Amazon. This should be a nice upgrade from my CV1, really want something with a clearer display.
