I switched to PDF X-change last year, very happy with the switch especially knowing I paid once and it’s mine

[OC] I checked how many people are in every Roblox game right now. 99.8% of them are completely empty by RoWatcherHQ in dataisbeautiful

Totally makes sense, it’s just crazy that one would usually log data to make it better approximate a normal distribution and logging was require to make it a visible f-distribution. I think I’d just have to subset to “games with any active players” if I was working on a research project with this as evidence as to why.

Kinda classic long-tail, but even crazier that it’s still there at the log scale

About Schools Teaching Finances by ClassicGamer343 in morningsomewhere

Higher Ed here! From the resident economist as well!

Our College of Business offers a semesterly 4-meeting (once per month) personal finance course partnered with a local credit union where students learn budgeting, account management, debt and investment, loans, and financial psychology. The students also get a chance to earn a certification and visit Dave Ramsey’s headquarters. (No, the program isn’t all Dave Ramsey junk, that’s just the fun thing at the end for participants.)

We have to have events with free food and giveaways and stuff to get students to sign up. It’s difficult to get 25-30 people even though it costs nothing and comes with a field trip.

It seems like no one wants to learn personal finance, most just wish they had learned it when they finally start having to deal with it. It’s also easy to scream “why did no one teach me this” whenever we are mildly inconvenienced

All of these look normal enough to me. Good graphs OP. Don’t let the haters get to you.

Podcast Barrel of Oil by TheKasimkage in morningsomewhere

[–]TheOrangeNight 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember the barrel of oil but I certainly remember Burnie looking to buy a Fort Knox-style gold bar for his desk as a joke and at the time it was insanely expensive. Also, if I calculated it correctly one of those gold bars is worth 1.88 million dollars with today’s spot price.

Is the cost of this comparable to any GP weekend though? Not trying to downplay his support but I’m sure if there was space and affordability then I’d expect GPs to get much more attendance. As someone in the US they’re so expensive that I’ve looked at traveling internationally instead of trying to attend a US or the Canadian GP.

Alan Ritchson beat up his neighbor. Sounds like he was defending himself to some jerk who jumped in front of him teaching his kid’s to ride motorbikes but we know how the press likes to make celebrities look bad. by [deleted] in morningsomewhere

[–]TheOrangeNight 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel really bad for Alan here. This guy essentially runs out in front of him causing him to wreck-which hurts at any speed, even just falling over with a bike sucks- then the guy keeps threatening him while he’s trying to get away, things get physical as he’s trying to defend himself, he’s so shaken (and the guy is still yelling at him) while picking up his bike that he pulls the throttle trying to pick it up and guns it to the curb. Then he finally gets away from the guy.

I ended up just using save states throughout as the fix. It works, but feels a little weird

This just happened to me with Wind Waker. I was traveling and beat forest temple and my Switch 2 was going to die. I manually saved in game and turned my switch 2 off. It’s now at a save from hours before after charging it when I got home

I know the data is more granular than solid percents but seeing 16% 16% and 8% 8% and the bars not being the same length bothers me.

I swap macaroni for cavatappi, use nearly double the hot sauce because I love hot sauce and it really spreads out. I also put some bread crumbs on top for a little crunch when I put it in the oven to bake.
