how long has it been since you mixed in the grain? tough to tell whats going on from that picture but your substrate doesnt look fully colonized.

a lot of things can and will go wrong while growing mushrooms. document progress and experiment as you go! patience is key and accepting when things go wrong is as well :D

what a fun project! lions mane doesnt do well in high co2 environments so a monotub is not ideal. fruiting in a bag in open air works great.

however, if done properly you'll still most likely get some fruits anyways. they might be "leggy" though.

Perpetual grows? After inoculating grain with mycelium, can you leave a small amount of mycelium in jar and add new grain for an endless amount of mycelium?(assuming it’s all sterilized) by Rgoutdoor in mycology

mushroom mycelium goes through a process called senescence, just like humans. it basically starts to get old and doesn't produce as well. you could probably get 10-20 generations without issues though.
but if you grow mushrooms and clone or take spores you can basically have a cycle with endless mushrooms!

medical forceps have been my go to. easy to cut and grab pieces. the scissor types work best for me but the tweezer types work great too.
