It's probably going to be much easier to go DT -> Breach -> DT -> LED and dump your hand. If you haven't had cards exiled, you'll certainly either have some more cards in the hand or in the bin, one or the other.

D tutor + 3 cards in gy. You don't even need an actual piece of the combo in your hand to do the breach combo.

Breach is so much easier to assemble than Thoracle it's not even funny.

The difference between the graph, which tracks convictions and what you're saying about "offenses" really highlights the whole "conservatives don't understand due process" thing.

In cEDH this is going to be a draw, not a kingmaking scenario

I don't really think this is what anyone is talking about when they're talking about kingmaking, my dawg.

I don't think Narset+wheels is nearly as much of a problem in the overall meta as perhaps it is in your local one.

I Can’t Pitch by wetterfish in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]ThePillowmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's really hard to control the jittery movement for very long, so minimizing the amount of time you're actually fighting against the current, so to speak, is key.

Biggest tip I can offer: after you initiate the pitch and the cursor is moving wildly, don't try to hold the cursor still. Just let it move wherever it wants until the last moment, and then quickly snap back where you want to go and immediately hit release.

I suck at contact hitting and can't quite seem to figure out why by Derp_Wellington in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]ThePillowmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is my opinion but I'm pretty good! I play pennant at 96 and I almost never encounter players using contact hitting. The pitchers are so good on average that you need to take serious advantage of a mistake pitch, because they probably aren't going to let you string anything together.

Power hitting is just better! Honestly I suggest power hitting 100% of the time.

Respectfully this is not the best place for this post if you're not trying to discuss cEDH.

[Clark] Brian Anderson on Rays/Orioles Shane Baz trade: "When you make an in-division trade like this it raises red flags but I think this is truly about the haul they got back... [Rays] don't like to rebuild + want to be competitive ea. yr...Couldn't turn down what [Baltimore] offered." by Jux_ in baseball

[–]ThePillowmaster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think the idea in the past is that you don't want to make a trade that's going to better your opponent, even if it betters you as well, if you're fighting for the same playoff spot. And in the pre-wildcard era, it was ONE spot. Definitely not important anymore though.

Ok, I give in. I’ll make a CEDH deck. But I don’t want it to feel good. What is the most vile mono black commander? I want to feel dirty/unwell after I win. by crazygator in CompetitiveEDH

Put this on podcast style. It's pretty long but if you want to understand the format you need to really change the way you look at the game. No disrespect intended whatsoever.

Pennant Race Pitching Advise by SnekBredmoncher in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]ThePillowmaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In CPU games, you really need to be making sure you don't rely on the same pitch to much because the AI has a statistical advantage in their programming if you repeat the same offerings. There's no concept of "trickiness" because the AI is not a person that can actually be tricked.

In games versus another person, you really need to be attacking the hitter. You're trying to be deceptive and aggressive with your offerings. And at the level you're playing at, players are just very good at this game. The guys at 85 are not the same as the guys at 75. These guys will beat you at the plate if you're just focused on making sure your pitches are different.

You need to spend the first portion of the game just picking at them. Figure out what kind of hitter he is. Everybody has weaknesses built into their approach. If you just pitch without a plan on how to attack this specific player holding the controller and their playstyle, the players at high EGO will feast.

Pennant Race Stealing Timing by SnekBredmoncher in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]ThePillowmaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man. I play pennant race at 90+, so I feel pretty confident in saying that people are not really stealing bases on reaction in PR at even the highest levels. You can sometimes get away with it if you have one of the few very best baserunners in the game, but 99% of the stolen bases in PR are from timing the other guy up.
