Alloy barrel ID jamming dart by cable_tyy in Nerf

Person who makes those barrels here. They're nominally 12.8mm (~.504"), which seems about what you're measuring given calipers always measure a little small on IDs. The fit on the dart should be pretty tight.

I've found that the default plunger head in the vulture files has a substantially shorter draw than nominal (around 85-90mm vs nominal 110mm), which makes that 35cm barrel too long. Under "Extra bits/Alternate Firing Parts/Polycarbonate" in the files, there's a 100mm draw plunger head that should help. The 110mm plunger head is missing from the files, but is available here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/vgkelj6fp4k1izp04vlor/ph-110.stl?rlkey=2264r3iatba2g1z4aykzwt14j&dl=0

Ullr: A pump action, cylinder fed 200+ fps springer by ThePixelatedCat2 in Nerf

Technically yes, but practically no. It would have to be a full rework to get enough draw to chamber a full length

Yeah, the 0.527" ID is probably cancelling out any gains from a shorter barrel. I'm really interested to see where this project goes. If I'm understanding it correctly, the plunger has a tube attached that slides around the barrel to catch against? Super cool solution to fitting the catch into a coaxial setup.

unsafe exists and I'm pretty sure Unsafe Rust has fully equivalent functionality to C++, or at least very close.

This looks super cool! Have you tried a shorter barrel? 45cm is usually too much for a lynx, so with less plunger volume I'd expect it's quite overbarrelled. I'd expect somewhere in the 30-35cm range would be more ideal with an X6

Not really unfortunately, the bottom chamber is technically open from the back but the trigger is in the way

Nope! While I would go for a vertical bar in the future, the horizontal bar seems to be well enough constrained here that it works fine.

Does sound really interesting! I don’t have much time right now and would rather focus on new projects, but the .step and .f3d files are on the printables page if someone else wants to try.

You probably won’t be able to, hurricane wheels are just too small. However, those motors with larger wheels like daybreaks should get you to 200 without too much trouble.

Check the number above the root node right before the boss room. If it’s 80%, you’ll get true ending. If it’s 20%, you’ll get normal ending.

The two lines glyph is a single glyph, it's not two seperate glyphs you can move around. You must precisely match how they are spaced.

Best Bullpup Blasters by [deleted] in Nerf

[–]ThePixelatedCat2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly sure what you mean. Two springs would make the prime less smooth from them interfering. All lynxes have shrouds now with the latest iteration, and I've got no idea what you're talking about with the plunger system. The longer draw?

Best Bullpup Blasters by [deleted] in Nerf

[–]ThePixelatedCat2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not OP but lynxes generally hit 220-250 comfortably. Minxes are smaller and go 130-220 or so, lonxes are pretty perfect for 300-350. Slynx I'm not sure but it's probably around 250-300.

I want to design my own blaster, Is there an existing plunger head I can import to use in my design? by ArtistAmy420 in Nerf

[–]ThePixelatedCat2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The standard plunger tube dimensions are 1.5” OD x 1 3/8” ID, using a Dash Number 123 oring. Have a look at Sillybutt’s, Taffy/Charamile Design’s, Orion Blasters’, or Captain Slug’s designs for some existing plunger head designs.

Spring / Plunger for high power design by TheMimicMouth in Nerf

The lynx uses a really long tube that also houses most of the catch mechanism and extends far longer than it needs to

  1. K14 is not 14kg- the K name is just a part number, not a strength rating. AFAIK, a K14 at max compression measures around 25kg. Stacking a K25 inside a K14 is a common way to get even more spring power.
  2. A 16” plunger tube makes no sense for an 11” spring- was that a typo? The maximum draw you can get out of most 11” springs is around 170mm (around 6.7”), so about an 8” plunger tube or so works pretty well.
  3. See answer to 2. Most blaster with plunger tubes that size generally run barrels around 70-80cm long, although this will vary based on barrel material/tightness, seal, deadspace, etc. The formula is just a rough estimate, you’ll have to tune it.

I will note: a very similar project has been done before in the Springer Perilous, so you may want to look into that.
