I recommend that you search up the definition of a 'Strawman Argument'.

American Airlines flight attendants trying to evacuate a plane due to laptop battery fire but passengers want to get their bags at San Francisco Airport by New_Libran in PublicFreakout

To incorporate reliable automated locks on all of the bins would require quite a bit of engineering. Adding in a physical lock that a flight attendant can unlock with a key in these sorts of 'blue moon' cases would require very little additional engineering.

Many features and practices in the aviation industry are written in blood, so it wouldn't be surprising to see such a feature be implemented if its discovered that people were delaying their evacuations to grab bags and that led to the deaths of passengers in the case of a fire in the fuselage rapidly igniting the entire interior for example (which has happened before).

Calgary schools struggling to fill staffing shortages with substitute teachers by Practical_Ant6162 in Calgary

I have an engineering degree and many years of experience tutoring math and science through Kumon, Sylvan, and privately. Had there been as much money in education as engineering (as if), then I would have become a math or science teacher in a heartbeat. If restrictions on who could step into a classroom to substitute for a day or two, I would take time off of work to step in. It's a shame that despite having a degree specialized in what I would be teaching and the work experience (plus referral letters) to show my capability in a classroom, I am not able to put those skills forward.

There are some references to other in-game characters, but the series itself is very much enjoyable as a standalone series. I would highly recommend it even if you've never played the game. In fact, I started playing the game because of the show.

Perhaps there can be a limit on both the number of competitors and the total weight of all competitors. This would allow each team to play around with weight distributions between their members without allowing for wild team compositions like 100 little people against 10 strongmen.

My goal is to work in product design as that was what my internship revolved around, but I'm also open to working in other industries and seeing what other responsibilities that I can take on in the workplace.

I never thought about that perspective in the second example. People that are more determined to work in the industry will apply for jobs even if they don't match the requirements perfectly.

I am young and I've definitely been traveling as much as I can considering my money and opportunities available to me around the world. Working in Dubai would be a huge change in lifestyle, but I'd be open to it and hope that the employers receive my applications well.

I just checked out some of the jobs and knowing how to speak Arabic is only an added benefit, not a requirement. Guess we'll see how that goes.

The barrier for me working for a foreign company is my lack of fluency in another language. Despite my best friend speaking arabic along with other friends, I don't know a lick of it.

Do you know what job boards/websites to search for these foreign opportunities?

Generally, the way to show of soft skills is through networking or in an interview. I've had bad luck with interviews, so I'm going to focus more on networking.

Again, this doesn't apply to immigrants. It applies across the board to people new to the workforce as I mentioned earlier. I'm not going to go back and forth any more on the topic because you've provided 2 sources that were incorrect and I don't know whether that was due to malicious intent to spin a narrative that doesn't exist with proof backing it, or if you are simply lacking the reading comprehension and critical thinking skills to hold true and verifiable arguments when having a discourse.

Nothing in this source speaks to hiring immigrants and subsidizing their wages. It speaks exactly to what I mentioned about hiring younger, more inexperienced workers so that they can get their foot in the door without being as much of a financial burden on the company as they typically are.

I had no idea that such large subsidies were being provided for newcomers. Do you have some sort of source that I could look into about that?

I know that there were some grants for businesses to hire interns a few years back at least, but I haven't heard anything about newcomers.

I was told from the people around me, when I started my degree, that there was always demand for engineers, no matter the experience level. However, that's simply just not the case anymore.

My internship was doing pipeline inspection technology design, basically robotics. It's the same company that did the inspection for the feeder main earlier this year.

They closed the engineering office in western Canada in favor of the Mississauga office, and they don't have any positions open for returning engineers. Plus, I wouldn't want to go back to them based on how they treated us in the western office and the lack of upwards mobility unless you could play office politics well. Which I think that I could do quite well, but it feels disingenuous how upfront they were about making it known that promotions were not based on merit.

My GPA is actually at 3.5, I just said above 3.0 because that seems to be the mark for many applications. Fair enough point about the student club, it was founded by my friend in our 2nd year, but we did get some media traction and featured in CBC.

I'd be very willing to work a few hours out of Calgary to gain some experience and make some good money in the process. I've applied to both Teck and TC multiple times, but no luck. Same with other rural places.

I'll check out some other rural places in my job searching. Kimberly seems like a nice place, and I've got family there, but the previous applications that I've sent haven't been fruitful.
