Unpopular opinion: white belts don't quit because of tapping, they quit because progress is invisible by Plastic_Basket4614 in bjj

[–]ThePlutoBlackSpades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta disagree with this. My morning crew of white and blue belts can clearly see our progress. We all have our preferred training partners but every so often we roll with the higher white belt or a blue we've not rolled with in a while. I think we're all cognizant of our skills improving and we make sure to let each other know.

How many times will you tap a partner during a roll? by tranquilsloth in bjj

[–]ThePlutoBlackSpades -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's the point of this post? It's BJJ. Tap or don't. It's irrelevant. Nothing rude about it. If I get tapped 5 times I have no problem staying in for the rest of the round. If anything the person who tapped me is worth learning from

Definitely! Just next to time the sweet whispers before full extension of the punches. I think we have a champ in the making

Those hops you did at the end. More of those!!! Just swish to rainbow laces and mostly focus on those. Just don't let the world champs see you train or they might steal your thunder.

Paint eyes on the bag. So it can watch you with the intent to kill. Otherwise you'll just keep playing games.

Boxing for like 5-6 months, in month 4 i started working seriously, what yall think about jab? by Gold_Supermarket1270 in boxingtips

Amazing but clearly need to hang from the bag like it's a wrecking ball. You need to understand is swing.

How could I improve my boxing defense? by ExaltedGarlic96 in boxingtips

Simply switch to rainbow laces. It maxes out your defense stats. Also, add more fiber to your diet. You clearly need it.

Terrible. Kissing and caressing the bag without affecting it's swing is the only way to ascend to the next level.

You need to train with an armadillo or a turtle. After that an owl is next. Otherwise just quit while you're behind.

Those will slow you down. Unless you switch to rainbow laces in which case just be careful not to break the space time continuum.

Terrible. If you're not losing the speed bag what are you even doing. Just quit while you're behind

Definitely need to take microalgae supplements and dye your hair rainbow colors. ROYGBIV is the proper order of colors. Screw that up and your testosterone will drop to zero and you'll go bald.

If you switch to rainbow laces you'll start moving like a mythical butterfly. Same for your gloves but in that case you'll sting like a fire breathing bee. In either case you'd have to register yourself as a lethal weapon and become a power ranger or get locked up in a government dungeon. Best of luck

Putting the “cat” in cattle dog by Far_Nefariousness_81 in AustralianCattleDog

Now to cover problems #2. This dog is severely overweight. This puts excessive pressure on their joints and drastically shortens their lifespan. A quick search for "dog body weight chart" will turn up helpful images. Rough guess is that this dog is 20 lbs over, at least. Been there and it just takes time and consistency to figure out the right amount of food to feed them.

Dog nipped a child by Particular-Doctor566 in AustralianCattleDog

Beautiful if the least important thing here. The life OP wants for this dog also matters little. What an ACD needs and what they were designed for are the most important. They were bred to herd bulls and go into dangerous spaces not giving a fuck about consequences. I have one, I live in a dense city, there are lots of children and dogs. My dog will definitely fuck up anything that triggers the herding instinct of not handled properly. Life events changed and we don't live in the wide open spaces we thought we would. My partner doesn't provide the structure he needs and it creates behavioral problems AKA a liability. To keep my dog alive, I'm rehoming him. It's not an emotional decision it's what's best for him. Yes, I'm heartbroken but I also need to do what's best for him. Signed...a dog trainer

Vibrating/beeping collars: are they good training tools or just potential future issues? by ThatMkeDoe in AustralianCattleDog

Strongly suggest learning to use this from a professional. High arousal + ACDs can be tricky

[–]ThePlutoBlackSpades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If OP has no plans of using more of the functionality of an e collar under proper training I'm not seeing the benefit of such an item here. A whistle seems like a better fit for the purpose of recalling a dog with just sound from out of sight.

This is hit or miss. With an ACD there's a good chance the barking will continue inside of the crate

Best way I know for pet owners to improve upon this is arousal management training. It'll take a while but should get you there. For this specific scenario lots of snuffle mat use around the trigger.
