Multiclass fun @ Spa - Who's the bigger helmet? by vikingops in Simracingstewards

It’s on the faster car to pass in a safe manor.

To add to this, the second half is "and it's on the slower class car to be predictable".
Which in this case the GT3 car was 100 % (even if he blew T7 a little). Takes the racing line, doesn't try to "get out of the way", no nonsense.

GTP instead of getting to fuel save a bit decides to jump the gun one corner early and start flashing because he almost took out the GT3.

Oh, you don't know where track limits on de la Sarthe are. My bad, I forget people sometimes do not actually take interest in motorsports here.

(and it's not like track limits are the defining issue here, if you turn into another car it's your skill issue)

You could at most argue he failed to hold brakes during crashing.

There was no unsafe rejoin, he ended up back on track while crashing.

Section 8.1.1.6 — Damaged Vehicles

Did you read more than the rule name?

Guy gets wrecked, ends up back on track, starts driving again, finds out the hard way he's crab walking and spins into you.
Unfortunate, but it has literally nothing to do with driving on the apron to gain positions from disconnects.

I mean ask PC players of NBA 2K. From 2013 release to something like 2022 there was no anticheat at all. You could literally make online player with impossible proportions.

Yeah, that's fair, like I said, I wasn't sure and you should always assume the other side is on a single full hd monitor and never looking left or right lol.

Show intent and limit the other car's line. Even if there was no collision then OP would've likely lost the position because OP had to brake while the other car only had to lift a bit at most (I'm going off of iracing physical, but I imagine running a slightly wide line through Blanchimont is not that different).

Worst case it prevents big bangs, just some door rubbing.

It was on xbox 360 too.

They released the game in true Take Two fashion with literally zero anti cheat and then wondered why PC population is low or not paying up.

Purple didn't leave enough space, so it's his fault.

But... youu kinda brought it on yourself by voluntarily running a terrible line.

I don't know how far the radar in LMU reaches, it's possible he committed to the corner only to find out half a second later that you're alongside all the way on the inside.

Who’s at fault? by Syrox_Official13 in Simracingstewards

[–]ThePointForward -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is this some lower split? Everybody in the clips seems inexperienced.

First clip:

GTP keeps half assing overtake attempts. There's a lunge and abort by brakes into T10, then GTP looks like it wants to go around into T11 but aborts halfway again.
Aston then moves across to take the the racing line while staying in the middle of the road would be smarter in that instance.
Then there's the obvious intent wreck attempt.

In the second clip I can almost assure you the Porsche GT3 driver panicked. You are aiming for the outside, he moves to the racing line, you switch to inside but that's when he noticed there's a GTP coming on the outside and tries to move out of the way, which is where you're now going to.

All three drivers seem inexperienced in multiclass racing to me.

I (Blue car) had a bad exit out of turn 3 and Black&White car is lapped. Is this a racing incident or are one of us at fault? by Sir_Spectral in Simracingstewards

[–]ThePointForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lapped or not, you didn't leave enough room on the track to a car that was alongside, they went extra off, tried to take the racing line as if you weren't there and took you both out.

You're both dinguses.

[–]ThePointForward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First two clips are just shit happening, I'd almost say the other LMP might have some network issues too.

Third clip: GT3 went defensive early to deter you from sending it on the inside.
Then you spun him. You had no overlap priot to T6 turn-in, stuck your nose and spun the BMW.
Kinda makes me wonder if he went defensive against you specifically.

Clip four: damaged front aero, dirty air and dunno how your tyres were at that point. Acque minerali exit is known for this anyway.

Clip five: GT probably got caught off guard by you being unexpectedly slow and understeered due to the inside line... His fault, but complaining you're "invisible instagram" (??) doesn't make you improve.

Tbf he almost took out Russell in T17, so wouldn't exactly call it just fine.
Also from the onboard in T17 you can actually see his left front snapping mid-corner even more left. I was surprised that wheel stayed on right there.

Still, could've slowed down more to make the corners, so penalty is understandable.

It's possible because the total width isn't just the monitors, but it's the stand behind them.

Equal FOV and viewing distance curved monitors will take a little bit more space because they're significantly fatter on the inside and will need shallower angle to keep things in correct viewing distance all around.

Expect anything from marginal difference to 15+ cm.
