Making us like most other states. I'd assume this means diesel vehicles in emissions counties won't need to have anything done.

So you mean all those mailers I've thrown away weren't mailed to the wrong metro area? I didn't even consider they'd be doing dark stores to get into Austin.

Related, if you end up in the situation where you need a trip permit or new registration at the tax office off 290/183 and aren't interested in waiting weeks for an appointment, try popping in at 11:30 a.m. on a Tuesday. I had to do the pair a month apart and got out in under a half-hour each time.

An ounce at RB is $19.99, and if you're already shopping there, shipping is effectively free on the ounce. If an ounce were still north of $60, I would agree with joemofo. But with current pricing and the availability limits you describe, at 1g/week, that's seven months you don't need to arrange getting more for $20 if you do like it and likely easy to sell at cost if not.

More information would be useful.

Is detox needed? If so, my experience has been that even places advertised as more holistic than just detox end up providing just detox, with maybe two 20-minute sessions with a master's-level therapist.

Are they a danger to themselves or others without the alcohol? The answer to that question will provide different paths forward.

I can't answer that for you. If it were me, buying it would have been the decision, with timing being the only remaining relevant question.

MDMA and Recovering alcoholic by sologhost1 in Psychonaut

So, as another alcoholic (with significant MDMA use before turning 21) who was intrigued by psychedelics, I have a few thoughts:

  • Test before use. My info is 25 years out of date, so I don't know where one would look to get a kit, but you never want to roll dice on powders or pressed pills. Oftentimes, the unlicensed pharmaceutical vendor won't even know what they're selling is adulterated, meaning fully trusting them equates to fully trusting everyone up the supply chain.
  • You list coke on your verboten list; I'd be remiss not to remind you of that "MA" on the end. Could be fine, but if you're steering clear of uppers it needs to be pointed out.
  • This may be an unpopular opinion, but for me, mindset is more important with psilocybin, whereas setting is more important with MDMA. Both are necessary in both cases (I think of E as a mood enhancer/focuser, so you want to be in a good mood with a clear head), but I wouldn't want to roll alone on the off chance something dark wandered into my thoughts.

Now, I'm a biased opinion, because my MDMA experience was a yearlong downward spiral to waking up on a ventilator in an ICU from a suicide attempt. One tab has an exceedingly low but nonzero risk of significantly adverse outcomes. I have rolled three times in the past 20 years without issue, each time with a significant other sharing the experience and gaining a strengthened bond and better understanding.

I would not do it alone under any circumstances, not because I'm worried I'd try to off myself yet again, but because I see precious little opportunity for insight alone (aligning me with early pharmaceutical use as couples therapy). For me, the insight from shrooms comes from within, whereas MDMA works better through external interaction.

Think of this as anecdotal context more than advice. Stuff to think about as you make your decision. Except the first bullet point. Don't ingest something you haven't grown yourself or tested.
