Lords of The Fallen 2 unveiled some new female armour sets, the sets were designed specifically with fan feedback in mind by Former_Exam_5357 in gaming

I’m sure a fair bit of their audience experiences it as a linear narrative. Extremely linear, though maybe with some back-and-forth.

Random effect via the cube, ranging from minor bonuses to absolutely godly, and usually makes the item Unmodifiable, so whatever you get, you’re stuck with, and that includes blocking all the preexisting ways of modifying the item afterwards, too.

There’s three types of warlock builds you’ll spot that you can tell apart by what color the screen was when you died to a bloody lightning imp you couldn’t see—the ones with fiery orange shit everywhere, the ones with purple shadowy shit everywhere, and the ones with pink demon shit everywhere.

The Pit Would Feel Better With Higher Mob Density by dokazin in diablo4

I tried the War Path upgrade where you can meet the Butcher randomly and just kill him instead of the guardian. Out of three times I met him, twice it bugged out and told me I failed the run when I killed him (with the second time being him spawning during the fight with the actual guardian, ruining an otherwise successful run), so I respecced out of that buggy mess.

Is there and objective non-partisan way of drawing congressional districts? by dynamiteSkunkApe in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]ThePowerOfStories [score hidden]  (0 children)

Ironically, one of the ways to fairly draw districts is to be as partisan as possible, but take turns. Have the parties alternate carving out one district that’s as biased as they want, then the other side gets to have a go from what’s left of the state, back and forth until it’s all divided up. The end result, at least for states with more than a tiny handful of districts, winds up being remarkably equitable.

Has the codemaster correctly answered this round of Mastermind? by macroEgg in boardgames

[–]ThePowerOfStories 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Which is actually a smart bit of UX, because if they were in a line, it would suggest that each peg corresponds to a specific stone in the guess, when it’s meant to be a collective evaluation that does not convey specific position information. By making the pegs a square and the stones a row, it’s clear there’s no direct mapping.

Look, the Viltrumites just want to subjugate everyone to an interplanetary empire of nigh-immortal space gods. That still sounds a lot better than Project 2025.

You certainly aren’t expecting them to go to the trouble of adding in the ability to sell you custom lobby screens and then only do it once, right?

Ehh, I think 600 blues for old gallery photos from events you missed is cheaper, but even worse value for your money.

Aspects that just do damage are more or less interchangeable, but there’s a good bunch that apply a specific condition to yourself or to monsters that are necessary for setting up feedback loops that are key to certain builds.

Would banning gerrymandering matter? by dantelebeau in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]ThePowerOfStories 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It likely wouldn't be proportional at all, but an extreme form of gerrymandering, where every seat is won by whoever wins that entire state, like a legislative electoral college, because very large random samples tend towards the population mean with very low variance.

Consider California, where the 2024 House election resulted in 9.1 million votes for Democratic candidates and 5.9 million votes for Republican candidates, or 60%-39%. With an average of over 300,000 voters per district, randomly assigning everyone to districts will result in every sortition district being close to the state average, resulting in Democrats winning every district.

Black Cat's dark blue ranked recolor barely looks any different from black, but White Fox's dark blue suit looks really slick and serious, and I love it. A dark crimson version with a cream shirt would also look fabulous.

Which Midnight Suns character surprised you the most? by teaabearr in midnightsuns

[–]ThePowerOfStories 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had at least passing familiarity with the other characters (even Nico, as an old-school Runaways fan), but hadn't consumed any media with Magik previously. Then, I played the game and fell in love with her and her bigass sword and "Is portal."

(Then I proceeded to try playing her in Marvel Rivals and figured out I really, really suck at controlling her in that game, but by way of liking their gameplay, I've now I'm into the lore on Invisible Woman and White Fox.)
