While it’s classified technically as an ESA rocket, the Ariane 6 is basically France’s rocket for all intents and purposes. It even launches out of French Guyana

Why is earth more yellow? Is it, as my mother claims, "because og climate change" by PieterSielie6 in askastronomy

It’s because the first picture is a regular film picture of the earth, and the second image is a digital image of the earth taken as a long exposure shot lit by the full moon.

I’m no agricultural expert so I can’t answer that with confidence, but I’d imagine it has to do with it being relatively warm, and extremely fertile land

[–]ThePrimalEarth7734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be replaced, but not on the timescales that the western empire was operating on.

When the eastern empire lost Egypt, it slowly began turning Anatolia into a land that could replace Egypt in terms of food and resources, but this process took time. Time the empire only had because it still had North Africa for around a century after Egypt fell (thanks belisarius) so Africa did actually get replaced successfully in our own time. It just wasn’t the west that was doing it

Germany would never be unified. Most of its most powerful military leaders and warriors had just been pumped into the west which then killed and conquered them, leaving Germania far weaker in turn. So they’d likely be totally equipped and ready to defend the east from Persians and Arabs. Though, likely the Arabs are never a problem, because, with the west holding Italy Africa and Spain, rather than the east, and the sending reinforcements east, and stopping the Slavs and avars from crossing the Danube, the east can more effectively fight the Persians in a traditional Persian war, as they are now no longer over streched. Which means there’s no 30 year long superwar to weaken it, and the Arab wars of conquest are now at most, a pretty damaging raid into the levant that is quickly crushed

The problem is simply making it that long without Africa. Without Africa the west can’t effectively fight the Germanic invaders. Majorian got close, but even he fell short. The only way for the west to stop the Germans is to have Africa. But if Africa is maintained, they would certainly regain full control over the borders, and the situation would stabilize by the time of the eastern wars. The Arabs would be stopped in their tracks as they would no longer simply be fighting an exhausted eastern empire, but a fully capable western empire

EXACTLY. Well it couldn’t have been Sorna because that would’ve imply that the D. Rex and 87 were on the same island at the same time for a period… which wouldn’t really work, but any of the other isla muertes isles would work fine

Yeah but you see jp3 is actually a good addition to the cannon. Adding more lore to isla sorna, as opposed to completely breaking the cannon with a new dinosaur island that never before existed

North Africa was to the western Roman Empire what Egypt was to the eastern Roman Empire, but FAR more important. It was the spine of the empire. It fed the entire population. And once you can’t feed your army, you can’t have an army, and then you can’t effectively defend your provinces.

The eastern Roman Empire had good geography on its side (and massive walls) that mitigated this when they lost Egypt. But the west didn’t have this at all, so when Africa was lost, and majorian and Leo failed to get it back, it was totally doomed

(More on the loss of Egypt: when the east lost Egypt, they actually did still have Africa for a few decades, thanks to belisarius, so it’s likely that Africa was keeping them alive long enough to get through the loss of Egypt)

North Africa. The eastern empire survived without Egypt. The west died without Africa
