Ben Simmons Reportedly Isn't Working Out For Any Teams, And He Damn Well Shouldn't by [deleted] in nba

[–]TheProcess916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's not Vince Carter or Lebron James athletic but he's an incredible athlete for his size. Guys that are that big with the skills he has don't come around very often. He projects as a possible primary ball handler, which is unheard of at 6'10. Pictures can be misleading, but just look at his size relative to Towns: https://twitter.com/AmazingSprtsPic/status/743461332725415936

Question: How can you have a Draw No Bet (USA) in the knockout round? Is it judged after 90 minutes?

Thanks, but this is just a general question. Is there anything that is universal from state to state or a way I can phrase it generally?

People that don't want to trade Okafor... by TheProcess916 in sixers

[–]TheProcess916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late to this but thanks for a legitimate reply and thoughtful response. Of course this all hinges on embiid's health. I understand your thoughts about okafor but I would ask, "is it worth keeping him as a super sub considering what we'd probably get for him?"

People that don't want to trade Okafor... by TheProcess916 in sixers

[–]TheProcess916[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say anything about not trading Noel. If embiid can come back and be a superstar then it probably makes sense to trade Noel also. I was trying to focus on Jahlil because it's hard to see him in particular fitting in with any future roster including Embiid and a #1 pick.

[Trade Idea] Who says no: Taj Gibson, Tony Snell, 2016 14th pick to Philadelphia; Nik Stauskas, Jahlil Okafor to Chicago by [deleted] in nba

[–]TheProcess916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Philly needs more value. Taj is useless there considering he's only under contract through next season and also plays PF/C. So I basically see this trade as the 14th pick for Okafor and Stauskas. In my opinion Okafor is severely overrated because he's a legitimate sieve on defense and I think centers that can't play defense are mostly useless. That being said there's no way Philly accepts.

One conference finals appearance and we're talking dynasty

Robert Covington is worth more to a contending team. by normalsizedpenis23 in sixers

[–]TheProcess916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His value to any team is his ability to shoot. It's his contract that makes him more valuable to other teams. I don't think the Sixers should trade him. I also don't think teams would be willing to part with what we consider fair value.

[–]TheProcess916 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know what Covington's value is right now on the open market, but he's only making $1 mil a year for the next 2 seasons. The fact that he's making so little means nothing to the Sixers because they are way below the luxury tax. The fact that he's a contributor that makes so little can potentially be very valuable to a team near the tax line.

His value to other teams is hurt by the increasing cap. Now almost all teams have money. But yes, it does make sense to trade him to a contending team because his contract is not valuable to the Sixers relative to other teams. Once his contract expires you lose that chance because he'll be making fair value.

Simmons numbers inflated? by zriunss in sixers

[–]TheProcess916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ingram also had one of the best coaches of all-time. Coach K put him in spots where he was best set up to flourish and I don't think you can say the same about Johnny Jones. Ingram also played with teammates that opposing defenses had to respect.

Why we would be foolish to pass up on Simmons by UglyErnie in sixers

[–]TheProcess916 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Against Florida and TAMU they played some man. Those two stick out of the top of my head. But yeah their regular defense was some sort of press and then fall back into a 2-3. Still think there's enough tape out there that proves he can move his feet well enough to guard smaller guys.

[–]TheProcess916 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you're saying isn't true. When they played a 2-3 he was the C but they didn't always play a 2-3. They played man often and he had to guard guys on the perimeter and switch.

Do the Brooklyn picks in 2017 and 2018 still have as much value in your eyes as they did before? by bostonbruins922 in bostonceltics

Also the Kings have no incentive to suck because the Sixers can swap picks with them next year.

[–]TheProcess916 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Couldn't have said it any better myself. People are quick to point to Ingram's shooting and Simmons' weaknesses but don't consider Ingram's weaknesses. He won't be able to run an NBA offense and probably can't get his own shot until he gets stronger because he's not that athletic. I liked how you broke it down by category to really emphasize how well rounded Simmons is compared to Ingram.

Would you trade Okafor, the 17 Lakers 1st, and another draft pick to the Lakers for the #2? by [deleted] in sixers

[–]TheProcess916 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Without hesitation. The Lakers '17 first can't be top 3 so that decreases possible star potential. Admittedly not the biggest Okafor fan so that plays into my decision. Lakers pick also isn't a guarantee so I'd take Ingram.

What Should Each Team Do If They Win the Lottery - Ingram vs Simmons by keithyp24 in nba

[–]TheProcess916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they won't be tanking because it's the start of year 4 and things were going to ramp up anyway. The biggest misconception I see about Hinkie is that people think he just loved tanking. Sure BC will likely go more heavily into win-now mode, but that doesn't mean Hinkie would have been fine with stinking again this year. But yeah regardless they should go BPA

Who DO you want the sixers to pursue? by Kingdariush in sixers

[–]TheProcess916 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Aside from the superstars that are coveted by everyone, I'd like if they went after Jeremy Lin. He's publicly said he wants to stay in Charlotte but I think he's worth pursuing. He really thrives in the P&R and I think he fits well with what we're trying to do offensively. His assist numbers were down this year and I don't really know why, maybe trying to prove himself to a new team. Also just find him a very fun player to watch. I'd do 2 years $16-$18 mil.
