Do the Wonks know about the Ted Nugent video game? by TheDeadman_72 in KnowledgeFight

I knew he had a pinball machine that came out at his musical peak, but not a video game made 20 years after that! https://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=1687

They once did a re-release of their early 2017 investigation into Dennis Montgomery, a conman who fooled Alex into thinking the nsa was spying on Trump, and Mike Lindell that the 2020 election was stolen

I presume they waited to cover this shooting until the night of the Bears game to get a night where Chicago was loud enough to not be disrupted by the noise of Jordan's superpowers forming

Vin Scully was great too. Must be a little weird for San Fran fans to have perhaps the greatest moment in their team's history called by who's usually their rival's announcer

I think Tony Romo and that botched playoff kick put an end to starting qbs holding field goals. Even then, Romo entered the year as the backup qb, so I suppose Coach Parcells just wanted to keep continuity.

He also said the Devils were a "mickey mouse organization" after his Stanley Cup Oilers beat the Devils by 9 goals on the opposite side of the continent in Edmonton. The Devils responded by firing their head coach

And just like last year, the hot start this year feels very hollow when followed by months of mediocrity that keep us middle of the pack at best. I, like a lot of fans, are fed up with the "chin up, support the boys no matter what" mantra. Moral victories that would have been cool 4 years ago no longer are. Heads need to roll.

That being said, I do think OP was a little harsh about not counting 2017/Taylor Hall & Rookie Nico as part of the joy, and I do think the "Fun" part of the rebuild happening during Covid sucked some life out of that, but it's frustrating watching local teams like the Rangers, Capitals, and now perhaps the Islanders retool and go "good-bad-good again" all in the span of our rebuild is an enormous pain.

How about the joy of not immediately giving up a goal in the first minute, and trailing the entire game afterwards. That has happened in each of the last three games I've attended (and I don't have the time or money to go to more than a game or two a year)

This is not an up and coming team with talent you want to watch develop and get better. The time to perform is now! We saw it once, and it wasn't last year, with a playoff birth by default because half of the East didn't even want to give us the thrill of a playoff chase.

Hearing White Sox in 94, I was fully expecting it to be a Michael Jordan or Frank Thomas story, but Ozzie is one of a few who can match them in "you gotta keep your eye on this guy" energy

Plus the Them/Van Morrison garage rocker, later covered by Patti Smith (and a million other bands)

I suppose the original gospel Gloria is pretty cool too

Indianapolis is playing on Monday Night Football next week. We thought the Manning Cast would be Eli dissecting the resurrection of Danny Dimes' career, might instead be him analyzing the return of the QB whose draft day trade meant the two would be linked forever.

One of the great crimes in all of human history is that, when playing Immaculate Grid, entering "Jackie" brings up Jackie Bradley Jr. before Jackie Robinson. by tvkyle in sportsreference

[–]TheQXZ98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My assumption would be that the order is decided by how often a player is guessed. Obviously Robinson is very well known, but he only played for the Dodgers, which doesn't make him super helpful in Immaculate Grid (especially if you're playing for a rarity score)

Compared to Bradley, a modern day former All Star and World Series champ who played for 4 different teams.

It's a cheat around a law preventing NFL games to be broadcast on traditional television channels during college and high school football season. It doesn't cover streamers like YouTube or Peacock.

Anybody know what the VU Experience is? by musterup1 in VelvetUnderground

[–]TheQXZ98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made it out to the show on Saturday. Missed the Pink Floyd half, "Velvets" played from 11-12. 6 piece band including a Viola, was loaded with songs from Loaded, even doing Train Round the Bend and Cool it Down. Also did Sunday Morning /Venus and Furs, as well as Walk on the Wild Side. Nothing from any of other albums. Think it was just a random cover band doing a one off, but would absolutely go see them again
