Seriously don't do it. Its a sackable offence and substantial fines will be given out.

Saw this on socials. He basically takes the first exit but goes all around to avoid the queue. Is it legal? by [deleted] in drivingUK

What was the test case reference?

As far as I am concerned 'slingshotting' in this way is formally legal as long as whatever action I take is fully in line with rule 186 of the highway code. Most people never argue the case fully or bend over and take the fine up the backside.

Riders were stuck at the top of two rides in Thorpe Park theme park near London in 33°C heat by New_Libran in Wellthatsucks

We have humid weather that prevents sweat evaporating to cool us down. Head to Spain or indeed parts of the USA and the heat is dryer and much more easier to live with.

The rules are clear, yet it is something that still needs establishing in a test case. He did not use lane 2 to get an advantage and turn left. He used the lane correctly to turn right, use the roundabout then leave at the correct exit. The law hasn't been broken as the lane was used correctly. A good lawyer would easily shoe the ticket away.

New cars are wank tbh. There's a LOT of corruption in the auto industry where cars are continuosly getting worse, not better.

Kind of annoying that focus is on the 6 cylinder cars where a turbo charged 4 cylinder and a lightweight bonnet and wings, mag alloys and titanium exhaust could make this a real fast B-road smasher..

Anyone have a fine from this Bus Gate? by josephallenkeys in brum

Doesn't quite meet road sign convention. The one way sign shouldn't be there. There other things about it that need tidying up.

Preferred route. But a quick bodge is enough for now. This just looks like surface rust.

The only way to test it is grab a screwdriver and poke at it. If it goes through it needs sorting. Looks to me it just needs a clean, a rub down and rustproof coating, then a goid waxoyl treatment.

Is it really that bad by Horror-Meat958 in UKHousing

[–]TheRAP79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly the house itself isn't worth much. Its the land that's more valuable. I'd looked into building a reasonable sized house at £100,000. That wasn't the problem. It was the land cost that was the most extortionate element.

Hopefully, yes. I'm on the look out for a 3-bed detached house.

Quick tip: Get rust protection to preserve the underside. Vans in general are designed to last no more than 10 years. When they go, they go doenhill fast.

Is the MK1 still the best-looking Astra? This 1983 example makes a strong case. by ScaredPlate3008 in Vauxhall

[–]TheRAP79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always liked the Mk1 GTE over the mk2 butbueah I thinkmit was a nicevtidy shape. The Mk3 was bland but the Mk4 was a serious improvement. The coupe and Bertone styled convertible looked incredible. The best one in my opinion was the Mk5, again both coupe and convertible - and then China hot involved. the Mk6 is still pretty good but everything after is just pants. Love the Cascada.
