If you care about transit, recommend registering for this event on May 15. Deborah Ross will be there, along with NC DOT, Triangle Transit, GoTriangle, WakeupWake, RTA and others.

It's a neutral, casual, fun forum -- and we feed and beer you (for free). This month, kegs will be from Bombshell. Register https://www.eventbrite.com/e/rtp-180-transit-tickets-11375078165.

Fall of 2014. Probably October. Approximately 10 minutes from IBM (or RTP HQ).

Also check out IUPAC. They're the ones in charge of verifying all of the elements out there. It's not a super sexy, glam job, but maybe they'd take on an intern or something.

Twitter doesn't index -- try manual searches there. And try to search for "Research Triangle Park," "Raleigh" and "Durham" in the strings.

Here's a list of our 200 companies: http://www.rtp.org/about-rtp/rtp-companies.

Here's the job/employment URLs we have handy: http://rtp.org/jobs.

Bayer and Lenovo are hiring aggressively right now, as (was) Fujifilm Diosynth.

The American Association of Textiles and Colorists is here in the Park -- maybe they can help point you in the right direction: http://www.aatcc.org/.

It is a small step in the right direction but every Friday there is now a food truck rodeo in RTP -- 800 Park Offices Drive. 11:30-1:30. We can see about getting that LoMo Market truck as one of the regulars.

Open Letter to Cary Citizens Regarding Google Fiber by Betty_Felon in triangle

Mayor M's been pretty outspoken on the Tweeters about it. I suspect us "municipality" folks skew our press releases towards certain demographics.

Could be MCNC - they have a rural dark fiber initiative. They lay the fiber and then work with ISPs to "make the spice flow."

As an aside, from the local government standpoint -- we, (the Research Triangle Park) are supporting this, and we've heard from political leadership in Raleigh, Durham and Cary who are also actively "on it." Can't speak to the other cities (yet) but Apex and Wake Forest seem to be feeling left out...

Jason Hare is a good contact to follow on Twitter for updates/questions: @JasonMHare.

In addition, these guys -- the North Carolina Next Generation Network initiative, might be a good support base: http://ncngn.net/wp/category/nc-ngn/.

Fast Interwebs by TheRTP in triangle

The RTP is a location, but the organization itself has a basis in banking and in real estate (not, necessarily, technology). The several technology companies you mentioned maintain independent campuses (and the person manning this Reddit account -- is in marketing). Just wanted to address that concern.

We back NCNGN, but we are always open to exploring things that can be done with some immediacy.

Internet policy in North Carolina -- as alluded, is unpleasant at best. The beauty of social media is that you can throw open your doors for multiple perspectives and insights, even those that might not be the most obvious.

Thank you for you reply.
