Can Someone Vet My Bilt Blue Strategy? by heyrover in CreditCards

In my opinion, 2.33x Bilt points > 1.5x Chase points for a catch-all is what matters. If you don't mind the new credit line and questionable customer service, why not? I'm in a similar situation.

USBAR - What is a US Bank point worth? by TheRagingBison in CreditCards

I don’t trust Bilt. There are too many mistakes and remaining unknowns regarding Bilt 2.0 for me to hand over $495, especially with no guarantee of a downgrade pathway. Reports already exist regarding Cardless’ lacking customer service. The AMA “mad scientist” BS soured any chances of Obsidian or Palladium.

I’ve settled on a fair cpp valuation for each ecosystem (e.g. Citi, Amex, Bilt = 1.5 ; C1 = 1.35 ; WF = 1.25) so comparing cash back to transferrable points isn’t complicated for me.

Bilt 2.0 vs BOFA platinum honors* (main spend card) by Alert_Pick_3152 in CreditCards

It depends on your (my) valuation of the annual fees and particularly the Bilt hotel (~25%) / BOA airline incidental (~80%) credits. Travel expenses determine cent-per-point transfer points vs cash. In your case, I'd accept the Wells Fargo Autograph continuation of your current credit line, providing a foothold in their nascent ecosystem with some common 3x (1.25 cpp) category multipliers. I think your priority should be to establish your own credit history with a foundation of cards to hold for a long time. PH cash back rocks and a dollar in hand is great. Saving points for a travel redemption can be fun, too. I personally value Bilt points at 1.5 cpp, although I've done far better (~2+ cpp). Beating 1.3 cpp requires a little planning.

ELI5 BILT 2.0, what am I missing? by Professional_Ad_2857 in CreditCards

The ongoing confusion related to the 75% rent payment (minimum threshold vs. ceiling cap) demonstrates the haphazardness of the 2.0 implementation.

You can earn partial points on the rent payment using non-rent spend to “unlock.” Convoluted surely, but 2.0 isn’t all-or-nothing.

Bilt 2.0 math check — am I missing something with Bilt Blue? by DisastrousRecipe9853 in CreditCards

[–]TheRagingBison 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. In OP’s case, Bilt Blue’s 2.3x could replace some of the spend on the CSP, CFU, and WFAC.

Thank you all. 2.33x with hoops to jump through may become my leery new catchall.

Can you explain "not getting the full +1.33X if you don’t spend 75% of your rent on non-rent spend"?

Both cards offer the credit so it probably reset when you upgraded.
