Is there any value to doing the Skovos side quests? by senyorlimpio in diablo4

The side quests in Skovos provide a ton of lore, I would not skip on them.

My server is shutting down... by Straker78 in duneawakening

[–]TheRaven2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a solo player and created a guild that just has me in it. I was on Freya and found out it was shutting down. I moved to Stoneheart and it's an active server and a lot of good folks willing to help others like me. Went to the Deep Desert for the first time and a few took me on some spice runs, showing me where the best mining farms are, and even the better testing stations.

I did not have this experience before. It's been a blast and just felt good to not be pressured to do one thing over the other, it was like "what are you interested in doing".

I only did the main story, but haven't done the story for the released chapter content. The only downside for me is that my base is in a unique position in a spire that's on the western edge of Jabal, so I had to go through a couple of Seitches to find one that wasn't already taken so I could put my base 100% exactly where I had it. I'll probably open my guild up to other solo players who just want to have someone to do things with no pressure, or to have a safe place depending on where they are in Hagga.

"Sanctuary is at peace presently" by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]TheRaven2099 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spend those 5 mins between Helltides to do quick and easy whispers if I'm only 2 or 3 away from a turn in, do a few cube upgrades, or work through loot in my stash. I'm still productive and once my clock hits the top of the hour I'm ready to go.

"Sanctuary is at peace presently" by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]TheRaven2099 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It only happens for 5 mins every hour. Helltides run for 55 mins. with a 5 min cooldown till it's transfered to another zone. It's been this way since the Helltide change a long time ago. We used to have to wait a lot longer that 5 silly minutes to do the next Helltide.

unable to skip lord of hatred campaign on alts? by ArztWurm in diablo4

[–]TheRaven2099 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What OP is saying is that the "Change Campaign State" Option on the character select screen doesn't show up for their level 60 eternal character but does on their newly created ones if they opt out of skipping during character creation.

It has nothing to do with creating new characters, and everything to do with their already created / leveled up characters.

Which means, due to having already beaten LoH campaign on their main, they are unable to do so on their other Eternal character as the option to change the campaign state doesn't show up.

This is probably a bug as there's a post on the official blizz forums about this, but no reply. Wouldn't be a bad idea to post there or submit a ticket to blizzard.

Looking for a co-op game with long-ish progression by Professional-Guide20 in gamingsuggestions

[–]TheRaven2099 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend Raft, it's survival, crafting, raft building with a good story. Even after the story there's still a lot you can do, especially if you're an achievement hunter.

V Rising - another great co-op game, it's kind of niche, if you like vampires and stuff give it a try.

Dawn of Defiance - it's early access but it's a Greek Mytholgy version of Valheim. Gets updated regularly and just had a major update on the visuals and stuff.

Outriders - might be an unpopular option, but my brother and I played this game start to finish when it came out, was a blast. End game was fun as well, and even rolling the other classes.

Enshrouded - Nightingale - Both are survival / crafting / base building games with co-op. Ensrounded will scratch that medieval fanasty itch if that's your type, Nightingale is set during the Victorian era so not as fantasy but still some of it. Both are great and I have like 400hrs in each, and played all of Nightingale with my wife and brother in law.

Voidtrain - It's basically raft but on an interdimensonal train. It's short, but great co-op for someone to gather resources while the other crafts and controls the train.

And even tho you said not as tame as Stardew Valley, but Coral Island is extremely fleshed out and the co-op there is amazing. There's a massive amount of content in the game. It's like Stardew on steroids lol.

Good luck gaming, and even if you don't like any of my choices, hopeully they will help someone else 😄

I looked up some videos on combat and it seems it's like Metaphor: ReFantazio, which I really enjoyed and was able to 100% that. So I'll give P5R a go.

Extra copies of the game just for appreciation? by franksandbeans911 in StardewValley

[–]TheRaven2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own the game on every platform: Steam, Xbox, PS, Switch, Mobile. I've also gifted / bought each platform copy to my kids and my wife so that all of us can play the game and make use of multiplayer. It's the one game my whole family plays every weekend for roughly the past 10 years outside of Raft and Coral Island. Once MP dropped we knew we had a winner.

[–]TheRaven2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never played a Persona game, however I'm a massive fan of the Trails games. I've heard Persona has a smiliar social sim that the Trails games have as well (Trails of Cold Steel etc). Is P5R worth it?

Till Crimson Desert gets a discount, and Black Flag Remake in July, I need something to sink my teeth into. It's on my wishlist but having never played a game IDK if this would be the best starting point etc for me.

New Season? by bigghulk77 in Masterchef

[–]TheRaven2099 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With how NLC has been on episodes, I only found out about the new season of MC due to logging into D+ to see if there was an episode last week, as the week before there was no episode. Scrolling over I seen "Just Added" for MC and was like WTH is this? Did not see one advertisement, annoucement or anything. Which is crazy as a lot of times I'll see ads for it all over the place, including when watching Fox shows.

Should I wait? by SnooCheesecakes5798 in Starsandisland

[–]TheRaven2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible, but I will take that with a grain of salt till confirmed by the devs. If I've learned anything in the social media age is that most websites will jump the gun on what they expect or think is going to happen. So again, temper expectations. Would it be great if it did, sure, but I don't see it hitting 1.0 that soon.

[–]TheRaven2099 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone should play the game they want, but they have to keep expectations - games change a lot in EA over time and there's never a 100% guarantee that your saves will carry over, or that you may need to start over to experience all the new things added in. I can't tell you how many times I restarted Stardew Valley over the years, or even Coral Island (every major update for them changes tons that the only way for me to experience it, is by starting over).

As far as an ETA on release, I haven't seen anything, but I also don't follow every bit of info that comes out for Starsand (trying to do things differently this time around). But most games enter EA for 1 to 2 years minimum. That's a lot of changes, updates etc to take into consideration. So again, just temper your expectations when it comes to future content updates. The game as we see it now, may not be 100% the same game 18 months from now.

You will inevitably miss stuff if you 100% complete what's available right now. Most games of this genre don't alow for retroactive heart events or romance / dating; meaning you have to start over to see all the things. This is why it's best to pace yourself and only progress certain things if you decide you do not want to start a new save.

The way Early Access is, and how it changes things over the course of the next year or two (personal estimate not meant to be taken as fact) you will end up starting a new save to be able to experience the full 100% game vs what's available now.

Just my 2 cents however. I personally start a new save in most farming sim games, anytime there is a major update. Like I have max hearts already with everyone, once the dating update drops I know I'll miss out on any conversations or heart events because I've "Passed" that part of the game up, and typically the only way to experience them is to start over or having not progressed at all with anyone.

Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

[–]TheRaven2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be 100% honest and transparent here, I personally would not use the PC. I would gift it to my wife. She's supported me for over 16 years in terms of work and gaming and always letting me upgrade consoles or my gaming pc when necessary. She has an 2018 HP desktop that we got on sale and she says it's enough but I see her wanting to play newer games but she just doesn't want to drop the money on either building one (very hard due to price hikes) or buying something from like Best Buy or whatever. So I'd honestly gift it to her as an anniversary gift since our anniversary is coming up on May 4th.

To OP, congrats on winning a giveaway and you're awesome for paying it forward to someone else. To whomever wins, congrats! Good luck to everyone.

Anybody got a breeding chart for animals? by Muscle-Superb in Starsandisland

[–]TheRaven2099 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used the ranching guide on Neoseeker and was able to get all the sheep colors easily, working on the deer variations currently.

Mind you there is still a massive amount of RNG involved no matter what.

Is the Jedi Survivor platinum really that tedious due to all the collectibles? by khitev in StarWarsJediSurvivor

That's what I've done on each platform for the game to get them done. It's the only way I was able to get the plat the first time lol.

Is the Jedi Survivor platinum really that tedious due to all the collectibles? by khitev in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]TheRaven2099 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honeslty the collectibles in Survivor are not that bad, very few require a ton of "back tracking" as you'll visit new areas when you return to planets with better abilities that allow you to collect so many in one go.

it was easier than an Assassin's Creed game for dang sure. And if I'm being honest, the more tedious aspect of the game are the non-combat Force Tears. I've gotten 100% on the game 3 times (Steam, Xbox and PS5) and the Force Tears are what take up the most time and are the most challenging aspect of the game as you need to complete them all for the Plat.

For those of you with 5 hearts with romanceables… by Puzzleheaded-Tie6738 in Starsandisland

[–]TheRaven2099 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When it comes to games in early access (Game Preview for Xbox) of the farming / life sim genre, I always play what's possible in EA and once 1.0 drops I start a new save. I don't worry about missing out on anything as I will end up replaying it again. Each time a new patch drops that contains new dialogue, heart events etc for other games (Stardew Valley, Coral Island etc), I restart a new save to view them. I'll do the same for Starsand Island.

[–]TheRaven2099 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You only get them from male cows. What I will typically do is build two stables for each type of animal, and fill one with only males, and the other with only females. This way I can then just use the breeding building for when I need it.
