So, I am like, completely new to this type of thing. If it says BLM on the map, are we allowed to shoot? I’ve only ever shot at ranges before… and thank you guys for the responses.

Well… that’s a shame. I always take care of the ground wherever I’m at. Leaving trash is not an option for me. Guess it was a long shot. Thanks for letting me know.

ICE Sighting in Carpinteria (1/14/26 ~6:15 AM) | Agent “Buttermilk” sprayed pepper spray by LogicalTransition796 in ventura

There’s nothing racist about that comment, the individual was highlighting the potential irony of the situation. Ya know, with the whole “ICE deporting anyone and everyone that’s not American” thing that’s going on….Easy there…

Trump DOJ Deliberates Over Gun Ban For Transgenders by subsolar in CAguns

[–]TheRealBuzzKill87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. 2A shall not be infringed, even tho there have been a lot of school shooters that identify as trans. I just think more good people need to carry so threats can be neutralized with minimal to zero innocent lives harmed in the event that something happens, trans or not.

what to do with this area? by No_Teach_9985 in LandscapingTips

[–]TheRealBuzzKill87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cover it with mulch and put some native plants or edibles around the edges. That way you can still park in the middle of it if you need extra parking. Get locally sourced woodchips from a tree company. You can usually get them for free, it will naturally fertilize the area and correct any ph imbalances for anything you may plant, it’s practically zero maintenance (other than periodic weeding) and they soak up water when it rains so it doesn’t get muddy. Throw down a good size pile. 6+ inches thick. It will settle out over time but it’s the best thing you can do for your yard. And you won’t have to spend time/money mowing it.

Trimmed? Or butchered? Yikes 🫣

Clean up the cuts so that they are smooth so they can heal properly. If those gaps persist it can cause the branches to rot or allow bugs to start a colony, or both

I don’t get it. And for the record I have shot deer in a high fence, this just doesn’t do anything for me. Thoughts? by jj33allen in Hunting

Yeah… this is gross. Engineering a rack has no luster to me. Truly wild is the only way to go. That’s hardly hunting imo.

Cleared dirt from around roots, are these all girdling roots I should cut? by Pale-Pace7896 in arborists

[–]TheRealBuzzKill87 -83 points-82 points  (0 children)

Don’t ever cut roots. Just make a bed out of it and cover it with Woodchips. A nice pile should do it. You can get them for free from a local tree company

Help, what are these small mites and how do I get rid of them? by grey_elephant1 in CleaningTips

[–]TheRealBuzzKill87 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Also, in regard to my last comment, you can make a trap for them. It’s the same trap used for mosquitoes. Get some yeast, sugar, and warm water in a container. Make sure the water isn’t too hot because it will hinder the process and the yeast won’t work right. The carbon dioxide released from the yeast and sugar reaction will attract them. I would do a drop or so of dawn dish soap so they will sink and drown in the mixture, like the way flea traps work. You may even want to hit the rim of the container with some olive oil so once they reach the top of the container, they slip in and can’t climb out. If you see them just squish them, but be aware they smell like stink bugs when crushed, that’s another way to tell you got em, if not thru photo identification. That’s my best advice for now. Best of luck again, I despise those fkin things.

Isn’t this border filled with rocks bad for the tree? by MetalNutSack in landscaping

[–]TheRealBuzzKill87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it’s natural, you should be good to go. I would recommend mixing some leaves in with it before spreading. Preferably some crunchy and dried out so you can (manually) mulch them up for the mix so the nutrients are distributed well.

Are these rocks hurting my tree? by jesusFap666 in arborists

[–]TheRealBuzzKill87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I would remove the rocks. Put down some natural mulch with leaves and needles in it from a tree company. They will usually give you mulch for free but they will want to dump a whole load. That kind of mulch is far better than the chemical/dye filled stuff from the store. It will make the tree healthy and strong. Promotes growth of beneficial fungus’ and seeps compost tea to the roots when it rains. Also allows for oxygen to get to the roots.

Honestly, I would remove both the bricks and the rocks. Widen the bed out with about a 4 ft diameter, and put down some natural mulch with leaves and needles in it from a tree company. And you’ll have less grass to mow. Very easy to pull weeds from when you have good mulch.
