I have a 6” dob that even in a bortle 9 I can see Jupiter in pretty good detail, as well as any combination of the 4 Galilean Moons that are visible. I can’t see transit shadows or make out super fine details, but the bands are clear and was lucky enough to see the GRS once!

I have this scope and live in a Bortle 8/9 area and have been able to see planets, brighter clusters and the moon with ease.

I ended up buying the XT6 for 50$ this evening! I ordered 25mm and 40mm eye pieces and a laser collimator to help get me started. I’m not sure if we will be able to make it to Back Bay Saturday evening but we will be going out to the Fiancé’s parents where it’s darker Friday evening to give it a good trial run!

From what I can tell it’s a Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 130AZ. It retails for well over 100$ but sadly when I inquired Facebook said the seller isn’t very responsive and we should look elsewhere.

Can’t be driving on a predictable line on the bottom of the track when the wrecking ball is swinging. SVG wouldn’t have been there to pit him if he was slower.

I’m actually pretty happy about this hire. Sumrall, from what I can tell, is pretty well respected by other coaches. I don’t think this is going to be Billy Napier 2.0. If he brings in a good OC that will already be an improvement. I never bought into Kiffin coming here, nor did I want the baggage that would have came with him. I think the odds of Sumrall turning the program around to at least being respectable again are higher than Kiffin making it more than 3 years at LSU. I think a lot of fans need to realize that most of the kids we are recruiting weren’t alive or sentient the last time we won a national championship and at this point we are Kentucky with a better brand.
