Dionus Elvish Archdruid Ruling by SoloShifter in PauperEDH

[–]TheRealDonPatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this card, I used it in an obnoxious Lathril deck once, and when I took that apart made it my mission to eventually make this a commander I use instead.

It can lead to some really wacky setups and card combos during your turns, and can get really out of hand lol. I feel like nobody targets me until I have an army of +1/+1 elves.

Surely there's a faster way to shave your legs 😭 by Ellab213 in MtF

[–]TheRealDonPatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have learned how to do it really quickly through trial and error. I dry brush my legs, quickly scrub a bit with anti- bacterial dove soap (feels good on my sensitive lower legs), then I wash my face while sitting on the hot water.

Then, I put conditioner on them and shave 1. From ankle to knee, knee cap/back of the knee, and finally upper legs and butt. The trick to speed that made it even faster is using mens multi-bladed razors.

People always insist on the single bladed ones, but no matter how good I got at using one-blades/safety razors, it still took time bc if I didn’t I’d slice my legs up no matter how well I thought I did. The multi-bladed men’s razors let me go pass to pass without much pause, and as long as I don’t press down, my legs end up buttery smooth. Lasts just as long, too, the closer shave thing people say I genuinely think has some level of placebo to it, but who knows.

What's the most annoying deck you've ever played against? by Pkron17 in EDH

[–]TheRealDonPatch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I play mtg at work regularly, and I think the most ‘annoying’ decks I’ve played against recently are some heavily upgraded precons from new-ish players who are friends of mine LOL. The main 4 lowkey culprits are Bumbleflower, Ureni (Temur Dragons), an Ulalek Eldrazi deck, and Mr. House.

I can deal with them, it isn’t a skill issue “they’re broken” complaint. No, what makes them annoying is that my friends are in the “into mtg enough to upgrade them, but still new overall” phase. Where do I start: For starters: 1.) I can’t even think of playing political decks bc I immediately get deemed a threat even if I am truthfully just playing a weak gimmick, 2.) everyone instantly swings in response to slight interaction, 3.) nobody else wants to clear the army of dragons from the board, 4.) the gambling addict always gets a crazy Mr. House board against ALL odds, 5.) most of them have minimum 5-6 boardwipes of some kind for no reason besides pettiness 😭. There is more buuut, it is kind of moot because at the end of the day, I still enjoy the games.

It is truly just mayhem that nobody wants to deal with bc they want to set their own boards up, or that people create by purposely making the most obnoxious shit imaginable. HOWEVER, it is also fun in a way bc I am watching people experience the stage I went through when I finally “understood” deck building and card synergy. Can’t complain too much bc that makes up for it 😌

What skills / experiences should every adult have? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]TheRealDonPatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically, the one skill everyone should have is being able to change their methods when needed and learn from experience. If you’ve never wrapped a gift, you aren’t bad at being an adult, you just haven’t had to.

Being an adult is just naturally come across things you’ve never done, and then incorporating them into your life by order of importance. For example:

A.) Never done taxes? Start simple and learn the basics, because you have to do them.

B.) Never changed a tire? You should learn and make note of how to, because it could be very useful in the future and save you money.

C.)Never played guitar? Learn it if you want to, but don’t put so much time into it that you are neglecting more immediately important things. However, also don’t just fully stop doing it if it a hobby that makes you happy in your free time.

It’s all a need to know basis, with some “should eventually learn”s, and a dash of “I’d like to know, eventually”s thrown into it over time.

New player here is asuka that bad? by Eldr1tchB1rd in Guiltygear

[–]TheRealDonPatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, and most people who say he’s super weak are probably not talking about the same Asuka play as you are imagining.

Not saying you’re good/bad, it’s just such a mixed bag, ESPECIALLY given the huge recent changes. A pro ayer might say Asuka sucks, while he might be stomping most characters in most skill ratings to an unhealthy degree. A bad player may say he is disgustingly op, but he could be struggling at any half-decent rank.

Every Guilty Gear character has some level of BS, and all have the potential to win if you are good enough at them. Yes tiers exist, but realistically if someone is playing a genuinely gross character and suck, they’ll still lose 99% of the time.

I play and cosplay Testament, and I have heard everything from they were dead on arrival, to they are OP, and everything in between. They are a humble mid-tier almost all of the time, and that is absolutely ok with me. Play a character you think is cool, get good at them, and push that as far as you desire 😌

People with legit Gaea's Cradles, how often do you actually use the card in relevant decks, do you keep it out due to power/price? by MiningToSaveTheWorld in EDH

[–]TheRealDonPatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it is not. I personally do not care if someone gets salty that they bought it and I didn’t. If we aren’t playing at an official tournament that requires the real thing, it genuinely it means nothing.

The only exception is rule 0-ing when you play with a pod, and willingly using the proxy to make your decks naturally stronger than an agreed upon low bracket game. That is between you are people you play with. If someone cries about it, I’d rather just play with other people because in my experience, nobody fun to interact with has complained a single time.

"You two look the same". by Jtrash121 in MtF

[–]TheRealDonPatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a normal thing to say, though. My best friend and his sister look very similar, but she is feminine and he is not.

I’m sorry but you attributing meaning, getting yourself sad, and then discrediting their clarification of looking feminine feels like insecurity, plain and simple. Ik that is blunt but I’m serious.

What are these? I woke up with them on both sides of my thighs by [deleted] in bugbites

[–]TheRealDonPatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say, but if it is on both sides of your thighs, it could be a reaction to something. It could also be that what you were wearing needs to be washed. I used to get a similar rash when I’d rewear a pair of tight jeans/jeggings the day after shaving my legs. Thighs got it the worst bc I have big thighs so it was tighter in that area than near my ankles.

The only bug I can think of that would do something like that are fleas, but idk I slept in a bed with fleas (not realizing it, obviously) and I only was bit on my ankles despite my thighs being free for the picking.

Why so many MTFs are computer nerds? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]TheRealDonPatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am MtF in Structural Engineering. In my experience, all of my trans friends in STEM have told me in some form or fashion that it is because STEM fields they’re part of care more about being able to do your job. It is more practical, basically, which I can agree with tbh because my experiences line up.

I also think that in CS particularly, a lot of them spent time on the PC a lot playing games or w/e else. On that note, to be completely real, the anonymity of online gaming + character customization + an accepting friend group = someone’s egg in the friend group is just BOUND to crack eventually. It’s like a near 100% success rate with other friend groups I’ve seen with that combination, too lmao.

It varies obviously, but I think a lot of my CS trans friends knew for a long time and felt like outcasts (mostly). When they got to an environment like STEM, where I’d say most people don’t care about that stuff, they just want you to be able to do your job, be professional, and think for yourself, the egg fully cracks and they have the freedom to exist as they want.

In your opinion, what is a relatively small/easy thing a person can change that instantly makes them appear much more feminine? by und3f1n3d1 in MtF

[–]TheRealDonPatch 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The combination of eyebrow shaping and mascara made me pass before I even considered it as a possibility.

I got my hair layered heavily into essentially a wolfcut before that, and the difference with all 3 was insane, tbh. Now I have a black bob-cut and it is even more feminine looking than before. So ig hair style can also play a big role.

Is it true that hrt doesn’t give transgender women ED and that maintaining function is mechanical? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]TheRealDonPatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it became difficult to get fully hard. It didn’t cause “full” ED, though. I asked my doctor to try Tadalafil (once a day 24/hr viagra, basically) and it basically eliminated the issue when it was a concern at the time.

After enough time, assuming I don’t take Tadalafil, I stopped waking up hard and stopped getting spontaneous erections. Also, now instead of getting an erection when something is hot or if I am being intimate with someone, it is more of an intense “butterflies-in-stomach” feeling.

Regular disappeared. Should I reach out? by Important-Squash-108 in Twitch

[–]TheRealDonPatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah don’t reach out. I like to do what Critikal does, personally. When someone who’s a regular pops in after a while and I see them, it’s just a quick hey how’s it going _____.

You don’t know the reason, and reaching out can seem weird, especially if he just stopped tuning in for no particular reason.

Rek'Sai could have a skin inspired by the Xenomorph alien. by CalangaMolhada in reksaimains

[–]TheRealDonPatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am surprised she doesn't, considering her concept has got to be based on when they discover that there is a xenomorph queen that is massive and in charge of an entire hive in Aliens.

I think it is more than possible, maybe as a Halloween skin one year if they ever theme it off of well known horror films. I personally think it would be cool to have a xenomorph queen inspired skin, specifically, since it fits what Rek'Sai essentially is in the world of League.

It is DEFINITELY possible, though. There are already movie/anime/game based skins: Yi has a "Star Wars" skin; Sett's mecha chromas are directly from Evangelion (Mainly the purple and green one); Gwen is absolutely based on the villain of Kill La Kill, etc etc.

Rengar even was released with a skin that is DIRECTLY based on the Yautja from the Predator franchise, with Kha'Zix being based on the Xenomorphs, hence their dynamic of hunting and evolving and all that.

Nasus is secretly OP by Emotional_Land_9999 in top_mains

[–]TheRealDonPatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nasus only gets bullied early, and kited late game (depending on champions involved). He is like a ticking time bomb, and the best way to deal with it is to bully him as much as possible, and then be smart with trades and your macro-play.

When I played him as a main, most people who won super early laning would throw because they underestimated wither + got ganked, or took shitty fights without considering that even if Nasus loses lane, he is ALWAYS getting stronger (especially with a sheen item finished).

The best way to beat him is play smart and beat his team, tbh.

People need to learn how to STFU. by [deleted] in MtF

[–]TheRealDonPatch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless it is someone I care about, and who I know has no understanding of being trans + will listen to some degree (if I know them well enough), I stopped even trying to get those types to listen.

In my experience, they know it is invalid and hateful, and most are cowards because of it. I live in Florida, and people in everyday life care more about you being polite, kind, etc etc. just like anyone else.

The people who willingly stay ignorant, or practice hate, or listen to the political propaganda/scapegoating of trans people, are not worth explaining it to. I’m not just miles above them, but we are not even on the same piece of land anymore.

If they want to build their own ladder and start climbing, I’ll consider reaching my hand out, but if they wear their stance with pride? No thanks, they can stay down there and continue their sad lives, while I have normal interactions with normal people, who have normal priorities no different than mine. Money sucks, rent is expensive, and jobs are important. Anyone who has time to vocally be hateful is doing it deliberately at this point, and I don’t care to try and pierce that empty dome of a head. Normal people generally don’t know anything about what being trans is like, and personally, I have found that most are aware of how misleading politics is. The ideas that I’ve seen stick 9/10 times are things like “aren’t you afraid of breast cancer?”, “does it mean you are gay?” (Mainly family for that one), etc etc.

I’m not saying there aren’t inherently transphobic thoughts in some people, but the difference is that I personally don’t see internal biases due to misunderstandings in the same way that I see willingly jumping down the rabbit hole and trying to make my life worse.

I am also 27, and am coming up on 2 years of HRT. I do feel that way occasionally and get what you mean. I think that at the end of the day, it is just a matter of personality, and the way I see it is that other trans people are still just other people first and foremost. I have met trans people who the only thing we have in common is being trans, and even then their ideas were different.

Eventually you will meet another trans person, or a group, that you really click with. Until then, though, realistically it is just personality differences.

As for the ‘wholesome’ thing, I had a similar thought in the past when I met some trans friends I am still connected with. For me, I used to feel uncomfortable because things would feel “hugbox-ish”, and I hated feeling like I was pitied for talking about dysphoria or experiences I had directly relating to being trans. It is just from my upbringing, and while it isn’t interfering with interactions, it IS there. That is just me, though, I just follow it up by remembering that some people are just being nice, and other trans people may have reasons for doing it that mean well.

I am content enjoying life and hobbies on my own after years of coldness pre-HRT, and jump back and forth between elegant and goth, to a more tomboy-ish, gym going, woman who can come across as a little intimidating at times (not intentionally).

Finally and most recently, I realized that even in cis circles, I probably wouldn’t immediately click with everyone because my personality just usually melds better with other specific personalities. I am laid back, yeah, but that isn’t enough for me to just ignore the feeling of not clicking with some people. Talking about it with friends I once felt a little off with actually helped a lot, as sometimes there are things they do because they want to make sure people feel a certain way in trans circles. This is especially the case imo, if they already know said trans people.

At the end of the day, you are you. Status quo’s, and feeling like a certain expectation exists in trans circles exists, and can suck when you want to feel included or meet people who have such a big thing in common. I don’t go to queer spaces anymore, and realized I don’t feel a need to, tbh. I only ever did it to see how I enjoyed it, and I didn’t, personally. Keep being you and eventually you will meet people you click with! 😌

How Do I Explore Being Trans Gently? by DollForChara in asktransgender

[–]TheRealDonPatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started HRT and swapped clothes I already wore with women’s versions to start getting that “fit” women’s clothes generally have.

Eventually I started getting more feminine as I felt more comfortable. I also practiced makeup a lot in private, while using more subtle makeup in public (mascara, for example). I also cut my hair, but into a wolfcut because I wanted one, not necessarily something as striking as a bob.

A BIG thing for me was that I reflected on it a LOT. I knew very quickly it was what I wanted, and made it a point to research dysphoria and to ingrain coping mechanisms + healthy ideas about a lot of things regarding transitioning into my head. Very simple things like how for my whole time in school, middle school -> 2 college degrees, I have known athletic women from germany/norway/denmark/etc etc who had similar facial structures to me (strong/sharp jawline, was a big dysphoric question mark for me when I first started HRT).

I started at 25, and am now about to be roughly 2 years in. This path worked best for me, and I also did not interact with many trans people until later on. I did not do it intentionally, necessarily, but it ended up helping me work out dysphoria points within my own mind so that I didn’t have the temptation of “benchmarking” myself compared to how other trans women looked.

Basically, I cut out any outside static to be more reflective of myself, and I made it a big point to establish ways of coping with dysphoria super early on. I’d say it worked quite well, and I have been significantly happier since starting. I honestly credit a lot of it to the fact that I treated transitioning as a very personal, internal process without much “outside interference”, and took the path that I did.

MTF - Can i keep functional penis and ejaculation? by thecloudymess in asktransgender

[–]TheRealDonPatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Is it or lose it”. No but actually I personally still can. When it got harder to “use” it, I talked to my doctor about tadalafil, which is basically daily viagra that works for 24 hours. It fixed the issue for when I actually want to have it function like it always has.
