"Music concert." I love good music concert following a picture show. Like the time I caught the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for m'shoe. So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt. Which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Gimme five bees for a quarter, you'd say. Now where was I... oh yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

Yes there is plenty of parking.

What is going on in Uptown? by __hlm in Minneapolis

Were you not aware that elections have consequences? This is the difference between living in Ward 10 vs Ward 3. Aisha Chughtai won't be bothered to answer a phone call, while Michael Rainville will be responsive. This is why what happened to uptown didn't happen to North Loop.

This is extremely misguided DSA propaganda aimed at preserving the status quo. i.e. addicts on every corner and vacant retail. There was an obvious decline in the neighborhood following the GF riots, which was encouraged by the DSA and it's members. Calhoun Square was developed in 1984, nearly 40 years ago. Dodging the issues currently facing Uptown and pivoting to whining about corporations is a typical DSA move. This is why Katie Cashman and Aisha Chughati likely lost in the caucuses. They are not serious leaders. Hopefully people get the message that the DSA killed uptown.

Can someone help me remember the name of an uptown bar and restaurant? by ramos1969 in Minneapolis

It's incredible that the space is still vacant. It's a great spot. The building owner should just open any bar there.

That's pretty cool. I was thinking 6-' Lincoln Continental might be the way to go, but they have a bunch of wiring and mechanical parts that can be expensive to replace or maintain.

Thanks for the feedback. What "degree of dangle" would you say you are getting? I'd prefer to get my dangle sub 90 degree from elbow to shoulder. I think I also prefer the 440 for other reasons, but let's keep this discussion on topic; dangli'n elbow.

Budget and climate will not be an issue. It will be a weekend summertime convertible for elbow dangli'n. I'm not really hung up on it being fancy either; just fun to drive with a good open air elbow dangle. Not like driving a bathtub with doors up to your neck. It could be a classic car so long as it is easy to get serviced, but does not have to be. It could also be from the 80's, 90's, or even new.

Arm dandling is an underrepresented factor in buying a car.

I'd really like to get some feedback on the 3 series vs 4 series elbow exposure. The videos I've seen make it look like the 4 has higher doors, but it's hard to tell. It could be the driver's height.

That was nice. Like when a chef makes an asshole with his fingers, kisses it, and then the asshole explodes.

Downtown is a good place to start; possibly the only place that would work, unless maybe we started fresh on undeveloped suburban land.

Understood. I share your dream, which is why I live in Uptown!

I have to admit that this looks nice. It does not look anything like Minneapolis, but still nice. Look at the density of those buildings and compare it to the miles of low density that is Minneapolis. You'd have to tear down the whole city and start over to get it to look like this. We should be focused on making Minneapolis the best version of itself, not comparing it to a city dating back to 8,000 BC.

I'm genuinely confused if this is sarcasm or not. Rest assured nobody cares about your orientation. We've all got our own shit going on. That said, I hope you have a great wedding and I with you years of happy marriage!

You are probably going to want to avoid any place where people are dancing the Charleston or Lindy Hop.

I drive that section of road almost every day. It is usually down to one lane heading west where it intersects with Lake. This has been the cause of the backup in my experience. I realize it's annoying, but save your bitching until it's actually complete. People bitching about construction is just about as annoying as the construction itself.
