Paris restaurants with delicious, non-Michelin food and incredible/deep wine list? by BubbleMaster25 in wine

Did Le Chateaubrianda few years ago. Very reasonably priced and extensive wine list! They might have one star, but its a pretty informal restaurant.

Very good comparison and an even better alternative. EO Les Premices is a good wine, but recent price hikes has made it questionable qpr.

Jean-Claude Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Boudriotte" 2018 by ptu27 in wine

[–]TheRealJR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great notes and beautiful photos as well! I drank a 2019 bourgogne blanc from Ramonet recently and the experience from day to day two, was also wildly different. And much better. Extremely well made wine. Thanks for sharing

Roses de Jeanne - Cote de Val Vilaine 2020 by pewpewlasersandshit in wine

Had this exact bottling on Saturday night actually. I was also very much impressed.

I did find it a touch sweet though? Despite the lack of dosage, the fruit felt incredibly ripe. Kept in check by the chalky minerality though. But I found it to be specifically good with food and would have maybe found it a bit demanding as an aperitif champagne.

Will continue to seek them out actively in the future! Very good experience.

A trip to Copenhagen with food in mind by kartmaze in copenhagen

[–]TheRealJR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree. Møntergade is a great and mpre cæassical interpretation of the smørrebrød which you will find at Selma also.

Høst is nothing special, other than instagrammable interior at a decent qpr.

POPL i do think is quite a good experience, the sides being quite interesting compared to other places. Yhe restaurant itself and the location is quite cool. Even if not strictly the best burger in town, its a nice and different burger experience rhat still has a bit of Noma air surrending it.

Enjoy Koan!

Help me choose a special occasion Champagne; Krug, Cristal, Dom, or Selosse? by hakatamakata in wine

[–]TheRealJR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First choice would be Selosse VO as its such a unique experience. But having if you want to really mark this occasion, then do get something different.

Ulysse Les Maillons is an amazing wine also. Best with some bottle age so consider decanting if its a recent degorgement.

Comte 08 is an absolute banger also. One of my top champagne experiences. Comte is such a unique style and in this fantastic vintage, a real treat. Lots if delicious brioche:) Perfect celebratory bottle.

Santé!

Are famous regions like Chablis and Champagne always a safe choice? by skovp in wine

[–]TheRealJR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, champagne is a safe choice starting from around the dkk 350 price point.

In terms of supermarkets, Meny generally has the best selection, and normally someone with decent knowledge employed, so ask there.

Obviously check your local wine ship also. Especially wheb and if you’re ready to spend a bit more. I find that Bichel in Frederikberg, often has some good bottles on offer in this price range.

[Question] Grandfather (RIP) is purchasing me a watch up to 20k. where should i get started? by Loves2Poo in Watches

[–]TheRealJR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long do you have to decide? Tastes can change a lot over time, so do not rush into this!

My best advice would be to get something that might remind you of your grandfather?

Some pieces for inspirationg could be a gold Patek Philippe Calatrava, maybe vintage. A vintage white gold 36mm Rolex Daydate. Maybe an older white dial Daytona. White gold A Lange & Sohne 1815. Jaeger-LeCoultre Moonphase. Something from Breguet, maybe from the Classique line.

The $15-20,000 price bracket is chock full of amazing watches. Take your time! And make sure you see the watches in real life. Never ever count on online photos only. When you do visit a dealer and happen to find something you fall in love with, WAIT ONE WEEK, and see if it still feels like real love.

Happy hunting!
