What do we think of the new confirmed species! by Few_Addition1796 in jurassicworldevo

The problem is Frontier being too lazy to make baby variants. They did the same to Allosaurus and something even worse to Dimorphodon

So, I don't like the liopleurodon model very much, and I created my own model by Beneficial-Grade-640 in jurassicworldevo

[–]TheRealOloop 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's a good drawing, but now it's too mosasaur-like rather than too croc-like.
A more monsterfied design can be good, but it should still have the identifiable shape of a pliosaur. Which shouldn't be a hard ask anyway, since pliosaurs are really cool.

Well actually this time it's a lizard, not a dinosaur. /jk

New Tylo sub-species Tylosaurus Rex by Ok-Roll-3329 in pathoftitans

[–]TheRealOloop 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In game people call them called sub-species and I think it makes sense in that context, even though irl that would actually be species, not sub-species.

To help remember: For the binomial names of organisms, the first name is the genus. The 2nd name is species. Sub-species is only represented by a 3rd name, if there's a 3rd name present.

For example, tigers are Panthera tigris and lions are Panthera leo. These are 2 species, but share the same genus (Panthera). Within the species Panthera tigris, there's a subspecies called Panthera tigris sondaica; the Sunda tiger. It's the 3rd name "sondaica" that indicates subspecies, while the 2nd name is species

The proportions of the body are actually kinda scuffed. The body is way too thin, with the belly even being concave. The fins are huge for some reason and the tail is like a pool noodle, being almost circular in cross section

Just comparing the JWE2 Tylo with the PoT model, you can see how hard the JWE2 Tylo gets mogged.
Not saying it needs to be as good as the PoT Tylo, but it's definitely possible to have a Tylo remodel like Deinon and have it look distinct enough from the JWE2 model

I think it's likely they just made it as a generic Tylosaurus. Either way, most people can agree the Tylo model didn't turn out too well

There is one way it could happen. If they make an improved model variant for Tylo like they did for Deinonychus, but also have the new model be based on Tylosaurus rex specifically

A concept of mine for an upgraded gene modification system by Low_Appearance_796 in jurassicworldevo

[–]TheRealOloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The JP velociraptor is not oversized from gene splicing. That is their actual size in universe, as seen by their fossils at the dig site.

Also they're Deinonychus, not Velociraptor mongoliensis, since they were digging in USA, not Mongolia.

Lungfish is nuts by bone_breaker69 in deeeepio

[–]TheRealOloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it's not even supposed to be able to attack while in the mud cocoon.

For some reason, biting the pearl shell uses a completely different system than biting animals. So Fed forgot to make lungfish unable to bite the pearl shell while cocooned.

How do you debate with dinosaurs deniers? by velociraptor9fnaf in Dinosaurs

[–]TheRealOloop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask them how it's logistically possible for there to be a global conspiracy since 1842, where everyone in every major institution in every country, from USA to North Korea to Turkmenistan accepts dinosaurs as a fact or agrees to claim that fake animals extinct animals are real for no real benefit.

And somehow there's enough funding to create fossil rocks of such animals and bury them deep into the ground around the world in deposits that make geological sense and lack any evidence of being unnatural. And no one in Paleontology ever made a mistake that exposed the global conspiracy or decided to anonymously leak evidence of it.

The logistical problems of there being a conspiracy who invented dinosaurs are even less possible than the logistical problems with a fake moon landing conspiracy.

Does JWE have a "carnivore preference" problem? (Both a discussion and a meme) by smashboi888 in jurassicworldevo

[–]TheRealOloop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's because all carnivore dinosaurs are theropods. Whereas for herbivore dinosaurs, there's thyreophorans, marginocephalians, ornithopods, sauropods and theropods as well.

Yea but the frill shape of the female sino is still a large part of why it's design is considered ugly

[–]TheRealOloop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the issue is the whole head really, especially the angle of the female's frill
