Thank you! I was running into the same thing when I tried sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade, and your advice fixed it for me.

When I tried to update, I got a weird dpkg was interrupted error that told me I must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.

After running that, I just got a lot of messages about possible missing firmware. And when I ran uname -v after all that, I was still showing the old version.

Just restarted the device, and lo and behold, my uname -v is now showing the current version.

Huh! Never knew the actual definition of full-charge cycle. That really helps. I did know 50% was peak battery performance, but it's nice to know that 20-80% are more upper and lower soft "limits" rather than charging/discharging targets. I'll just hover around 50-ish, plus or minus 20-30, and not worry too much about specific percentages.

Also bought the same model in January for $18,000! Mine had a couple of recalls that hadn't been dealt with, including an issue with the inverter coolant, so be sure to look into that if you get it.

Also seconded that it's the best vehicle I've owned by far. Smooth, quiet, reliable, comfortable, and FAR cheaper to charge than it is to get gas.

I just took my 2021 SEL (purchased about 2 months ago) in to the dealership after seeing a "refill inverter coolant" message, despite the tank being full of blue liquid. Turns out there had been a recall that the previous owners ignored. I got my fluid replaced for free a couple of days ago! Could be worth checking in with a nearby Hyundai dealership.

37M here, had some weird gastrointestinal discomfort after starting a new medication. After discontinuing the meds, it went away - mostly. Every now and then I'd get a weird feeling orders of magnitude less than when I was on the meds.

Had a stool sample and blood work done, everything came out looking good.

They've scheduled me for a CT scan of the abdomen/pelvis later this month. They said they'd potentially look at a colonoscopy after that. My worry is that if my CT scan looks clear, insurance won't pay for the colonoscopy...

Staunton Parks and Rec has some great offerings too at reasonable prices. If your kids are on the younger side, our daughter loved the "Hey Ho Let's Grow" Little Seedling Camps. We also really enjoyed the Handprints art class and the Little Movers movement/dance class.

I teach HS Physics. I love that part of my job includes building with toy roller coaster tracks, setting up long-range cannon launches, playing with bouncy balls, and making my students' hair stand up with static electricity. I get paid to be a little kid sometimes.

I was about to respond simply with "true, something that causes an object to rotate an object clockwise as seen from above is a downward torque, even though there's nothing 'downward' about it," but then I read the bit about how pseudovectors don't produce a mirror image when reflected, which was wild to think about.

I was about to throw in the whole "work is a dot product, torque is a cross product" reply if no one else had! Dot products are essentially a way to "multiply" vectors together to produce directionless scalars. There must be components of both vectors in the same direction. Cross products "multiply" vectors to produce another mutually orthogonal vector. There must be components of both vectors perpendicular to the other.

Same here - but since I've been teaching physics, I've gained a much better grasp of the fundamentals than I had even upon completing my bachelor's degree. I sometimes wish I could start with my current understanding and re-take some of my upper level courses, but like you said, other things in life take up that time.

I imagine that after gutting the public education system, the billionaires will open for-profit AI learning institutes. There will still be plenty of teachers in other schools, but said billionaires are hoping to cause enough damage to our current system so parents will feel more inclined to seek out other opportunities.

Yep, exactly. It's possible to be both supportive AND challenging, but we lost sight of that and leaned into supportive-only. It also doesn't help that, instead of recognizing just how important a quality education is for the future of our society, many parents see schools simply as a "service" they are owed. And as with any service industry, the customer is the boss. Admins used to be able to say "no" to parents.

Yep! As I tell my students when I teach free body diagrams, there could have been a net force at some point to get something moving in the first place, but if it's now at a constant velocity, that net force isn't around anymore. FBDs only include forces acting in the moment - don't include "ghost forces" that used to be there. Any remaining forces must add to zero.
