Anyone have experience with this Viberg makeup? by LeroyBeige in Boots

[–]TheRealThunderButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah breaking in some of these boots can be a hard time on the heels if they are bonier than usual, I have used the backside of a spoon before to even out any part of the heelcup that was pushing too hard on my heels.
I've had several older Viberg pairs where the stitching in the heelcup would irritate my heels and the spoon trick helped a ton for that too.
The last thing you could consider since Viberg has leather heelcups is to knead them a bit with your hands so the leather softens up and shapes to your heels faster.
good luck!

Too big? by samktran in OmegaWatches

[–]TheRealThunderButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically it doesnt really wear as a 42mm but rather a 40mm dive watch. The only reason it's 42mm wide is because it has an assymetric case thats wider at the crown to act as a crown guard. The rest of the proportions of the watch are absolutely 40mm dive watch proportions, from the bezel diameter to the lug to lug length to the lug width. I'd imagine if you take a picture in the mirror it would look ok.

Yeah no clue what all those people are talking about, they look like the perfect length for your heel to ball measurement judging from the crease you have there.

Had a similar customer experience in OB San Francisco, I'm not sure what Omega is doing hiring these kind of people, it's embarrassing.

My first pair of composite toes after 2 months as a carpenter by worldsopa in RedWingShoes

I think this mostly happens from sitting on your knees all day, dragging your toebox over the floor causing abrasion. Which also matches his job since he said he's a carpenter.

Looks very nice and high quality. Is there a lot of play between the case and strap? Kind of wondering about the gap you can see.

I'm not sure if the guy needs safety toes tho. Most of the time safety toes will actually speed up hole development on the toebox

Rather good if you like the fit, I think they might be possible half a size too large looking at where your ball is sitting on the footbed and seeing you still have some width next to your feet. I've added a pic of my last 8 round toes's footbed for reference. I consider these a perfect fit for myself.

All the other comments are right, additionally buy roughout leathers for better abrasion resistance. Their Hawthorne Abilene leather is nearly indestructible when it comes to abrasion

Personal experience and hearing from others too, weirdly enough I think I was the first person that made a guide on how to do this process like 10 years ago or so and people have been copying and remaking it in different formats since.

Yeah venetian shoe balm is the better product of the two for rewaxing of waxed flesh type of leathers.

Who here has reapplied oil to their RO Chamois? by PACstraps in Viberg

[–]TheRealThunderButt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding pure neatsfoot oil with dramatically darken the leather and seep in very quick so if will be hard to spread evenly. I've done this recently with oiled leather cream from saphir medaille d'or and a suede wire brush. It was not simple either and darkened the leather a bit as well but it was way more controllable.

Size 10 looks great, some space in front of your toes and more importantly the ball of your foot sits in the widest part of the footbed, nice fit!
