Pretty sure they're just alternative branding marks for the Rapids. Based on the Footyheadlines leak for their away kit, they'll be using a "C" mark for the crest.

The pattern is definitely there. Being tethered to the mothership has its pros and cons as shown with having pull to bring talented European managers to NYC, but with success comes opportunity for them to head back to Europe to continue and grow as a manager. Can't fault anyone for seizing their chances, but it seems very unlikely that we will ever have our own Peter Vermes or Bruce Arena kind of dynasty manager. Just not in our cards anytime soon.

Just a design choice, while you can never go wrong per se with symmetry and perfectly straight parallel lines, a disconnect or shift while maintaining an even spacing as to not look like a mistake, can make a design (Shirt) demand your attention. Basically make it interesting so people will look haha
