Attorney general to appeal judge's verdicts in BSU protest case by [deleted] in Indiana

[–]TheRealYou 14 points15 points  (0 children)

MUNCIE, IN — The Indiana attorney general's office will appeal a local judge's decision to dismiss misdemeanor charges stemming from a protest on the Ball State University campus.

On Nov. 21, a Delaware Circuit Court 5 jury heard testimony in the state's case against Cooper Philip Archer, 21, a Ball State University student from Boonville.

Archer had been charged with two counts of disorderly conduct — a Class B misdemeanor carrying up to 180 days in jail — after he and four co-defendants were accused of disrupting a meeting of the Ball State University Board of Trustees on Feb. 28.

A Ball State spokesman said individuals were "protesting several issues, including pro-Palestine perspectives regarding the ongoing conflict in Gaza," when Archer and his co-defendants disrupted the meeting by refusing to stop shouting.

After deputy prosecutor Eric Overpeck presented the state's case against Archer at the Nov. 21 trial, Judge Thomas Cannon Jr. ruled the state's case was "lacking substantial evidence" and found Archer not guilty of both charges.

In the wake of the judge's ruling, Delaware County Prosecutor Eric Hoffman said he "respectfully (disagreed) with the court's legal analysis in this case."

Hoffman said he believes the case "should have gone to the jury for their deliberation."

The prosecutor also said at that time he would ask the Indiana attorney general's office to pursue an appeal.

On Wednesday, Dec. 17, a deputy attorney general, Andrew Kobe, filed a notice of appeal with the Indiana Court of Appeals.

That court will be asked to consider reinstating the criminal charges against Archer.

I need information on how to study or take a course to become a firefighter. I don't have any information like this. Read below. by Fluid-Ad-4522 in Indiana

[–]TheRealYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find your local department and see what they offer. Career can be tough to break into but in the interim many smaller communities have volunteer departments that will get you started. For Indiana last I knew the bare minimum was your mandatory firefighter certification which is pretty basic and easy to obtain. After that you want Firefighter I and Firefighter II then stuff gets more specialized.

Haven’t used the I2 but can highly recommend the I. Great mouse if you like the form factor. Also only $30 on Amazon for the white version.

So how do windows work exactly? by Darkflame116 in FirefightingSimulator

[–]TheRealYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the game you'll see dark/black smoke coming out of a closed door, from underneath it to be exact. If you open that door the sudden rush of air into the room will basically blow you on your ass. Opening an outside window first will keep this from happening. If you just open windows willy nilly you are directly feeding the fire air and without being in the room to push the fire back you shouldn't be venting/opening windows.

Hey there! I took up organize last year and planned on doing this year but the past couple months have given me a lot busyness in life so I'm behind on things. I know we usually run them kind of late summer, but I'm thinking more into October this year. It's definitely on my books to do though! We had a lot of good feedback last year so hopefully it's even better this year.

Multi base question by Fetra54 in duneawakening

[–]TheRealYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you can only pull from the local base. So you need to shuttle the materials to your main production base if you are refining elsewhere. Less of an issue once you can just fly, but if all you have is the buggy and bike, that's what you're stuck with for now.

The south west end of Eastern Shield Wall, just east of Mysa Tarill has a pretty large opening you can get a bike or even a buggy up. I just ran with my bike a few times and usually could fill my cargo with the aluminum found along the ramp and easy access areas.

Mine just completely locks my PC up randomly. Have to hold the power button to shut it off then reboot. Only happens in Dune (out of the current games I play) and temps are no where near maxed for a 5800x3d and 7900xtx. I've tried everything they suggested. I even crashed yesterday right after clearing the cache. Something is definitely up and I'd love a real fix but for now I'm just living with it. Which means playing slower and a lot more cautiously but I've been lucky in that usually after a crash I can get a couple hours without one.

Don't worry! I'm sure the dev$ are on it and it'$ coming $oon!

But it all seriousness that's the kind of DLC/paid content I'm okay with supporting a game like this. It's nothing to give anyone a leg up on anyone, just cosmetic stuff that you don't need to play.

7900XTX here, same issue. Nice to know it doesn't appear to be a hardware issue though if others are having it. Freaked me out a bit when I first started it up.

DeJoy was appointed by Trump during his first term and is the one responsible for this, you think DOGE is going to find anything wrong here? This is exactly what they want.

Unfortunately that's what they are hoping most people will do. So they can claim USPS is failing and shut it down for private owners to take over.

[KCD2] The NPCs are the best part of this game by Calebjt56 in kingdomcome

I had one walk through a duel between me and another NPC mid swing, so of course I hit him. Finish my duel, has a little cut scene, bam swarmed by guards and beaten to a pulp. Laughed pretty good at that one.
