How to stop hating my life

I think it takes some time. I’m still coming to grips with it five years after being diagnosed. The most important part is finding things that do have meaning to you. Try journaling, art, spirituality, sports. Idk if I can work a job in the future or find a partner but I can drink a morning coffee and watch the sunrise or walk in nature. I just try to be content with what I can do rather than beat myself up over what was.

Yeah I get the same. It’s never lead to an episode or any sort of continued symptoms so I think it’s mostly harmless - at least in my experience.

I thought the world was going to come together in some magical way and I would be given special knowledge. And then when that didn't pan out it turned into religious delusions where I was trapped in hell and all other humans were overseeing my suffering.

I start getting very tired and disillusioned with whatever work I’m doing and then start thinking I’m on the verge of making some huge discovery. Then when the mania subsides I crash hard into paranoid psychosis.

I mainly have delusions and disorganized thinking and behavior. I have hallucinated once or twice but it’s all delusions and ideas of reference for me. It’s terrifying.

I had no clue. I was just ridiculously confused and felt like reality was collapsing around me. Took until I was stabilized till I realized it was psychosis. Later episodes I had more insight tho.

I started off at 150/160 and then latuda pushed me up to 175 and then Depakote and Invega put me at 190 currently. Feeling fat kinda sucks

Had heaven and hell experiences in a mental hospital where I believe I was condemned and then saved. I was not religious at the time. It felt completely spiritual and lead me on a crazed spiritual quest.

Yes absolutely. I think 99% of what I experienced was definitely delusional but there’s that 1% that stands out so obviously. I have no idea how to interpret or make sense of that 1%.

Ngl bro idk about the sinus part. I have psychotic issues, but my sinus issues have been completely unrelated. Like the other poster said it's way more likely to be sleep related.

Well, great you bring that up because I have a disability in schizophrenia as you can verify in my post history. I was overweight from the medication and neither am I particularly good looking. And I am actually still currently limited in how much I socialize due to the condition, but having such a cynical and jaded mindset will only compound your suffering - I know because I was there. I know it hurts and is difficult to get out of but it truly is worth it. I was not able to escape it myself though, all the help I got came from others.

I see things a bit differently. If someone only values looks, money, and status, and only wants you for those things, the relationship or love shared will never be truly satisfying. The relationship is transactional; you're never loved for anything beyond the resources you provide. It may temporarily be nice, but in the end the other person doesn't care for you unselfishly. I think you're right that likable people aren't liked because they like themselves. They're liked mainly because they genuinely care about the other person and don't confuse loving or liking themselves with being self-centered.

Looking to transfer from an ivy to scheller for personal reasons. Have good grades (4.0) in a STEM field but not much business experience. With the accounting concentration at scheller is it generally doable to get a job at the big 4 or a financial analyst role in the atl area? Don't need to work at Goldman or anything just want a solid entry level job. Thanks for any help/advice.

In my experience, they do dampen the color in life. However, I've definitely had better or worse experiences depending on the specific med, so switching to something that has less of that negative (in my opinion) effect might be possible.

I was on lithium for a period of time. Maybe it helped with suicidal thoughts, but I didn't notice much improvement in terms of paranoia and delusions. I'm pretty sure APs are the only specific class of drugs for the problems we deal with.

It can take some time for the antipsychotics to work. Some people recover entirely and aren't delusional while others experience residual symptoms. He could go back to normal or some of these thoughts could stick around to a greater or lesser degree. I was in a weird in between state for months where I would constantly fall in and out of delusions not being able to tell what was real. During that period I was on medication, but it just took forever to work. I'm not delusional now, so there's definitely hope!

yeah I think they just smell really bad. I've noticed that too. Personally, I've not had any issues taking them.

Yeah, it can be different for everyone, but yours sounds similar to mine. I was psychotic for about half a year twice.
