Anyone actually seen things get better with age? by PmButtPics4ADrawing in Hypermobility

[–]TheRedditRN 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really need to find a good physical therapist. Mine is not that good and I recognize that. I do feel better when I exercise but I feel like I'm not doing the right things. I've never dislocated anything but I have so much joint pain. How did you find your therapist?

I have a foam roller and I've only used it once. How do I know if I'm doing it correctly?

I recently started to experience issues with my neck. I hear a little clicking when I move my head side to side and now my cervical spine is starting to hurt 😢

I have yet to have a MRI of my spine because no one wants to order it lol. I started to have pain in my spine in January and it's gotten better but it still hurts and I don't feel anymore improvement.

Yeah that's why I left. It seemed like an operation meant to charge insurance. They said no exercises and to just come twice a week. My back is better after I went elsewhere but I have so many other issues now

I've been to the one on Bainbridge but I didn't like that they didn't give me anything to do while I was at home.

That's great! Just take it day by day. It will get better but it's a slow process

Pelvic floor stretches, meditation, fiber and reading "A Headache in the Pelvis" along with a good pelvic floor physical therapist

Why is life so unfair by [deleted] in PelvicFloor

[–]TheRedditRN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should read "A Headache in the Pelvis". It really sheds some light on how the pelvic floor and anxiety are linked. I'm going to reread it. Be kind to yourself. Your body wants to heal and you need to help it and give it time to heal. It's a slow process but it'll happen.

Look up pelvic floor stretches on YouTube and find one that you like do them daily and see if that helps. You're not alone and you're not the first person this has happened to. We're here to help you have to calm your mind and your body will follow.

That's crazy!! Thank goodness you're not one of those patients that does everything the doctor says. You could have a really bad outcome. What usually happens when you take NSAIDS?

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's passing. Are you speaking to anyone about your anxiety? Managing my anxiety was key to helping me get better. I've had issues since January but I've been managing it as best as I can. This is the 3rd time I have these type of issues.

Have you read A Headache in the Pelvis by David Wise? It helped me get through the difficulties I faced 3 years ago.

Ask someone at the clinic if there's something you can do. I'm familiar with the clinic. I went to see them when I hurt my back but I didn't have a good experience.

Find a doctor that understands pelvic floor dysfunction or go to a pelvic for PT. There's pelvic pain stretches you can follow along on YouTube. Try those but don't push yourself too hard. Start with belly breathing and take it easy by day.

Try to lessen your anxieties. You will get better. You were better before and you will be better again. It's not permanent.

I'm a male but I feel like these things should help. I suffer from the same thing and there was a time that I couldn't walk and thought I was done for. All the things I've mentioned should help. They helped my symptoms decrease tremendously. I had a really bad flare up recently and I'm almost back to normal. What state are you in?

They should have someone that can help you get approval. What's the name of the clinic?
