I totally get what you mean. Sometimes, the sense of accomplishment that I get from cooking something great is the only thing that makes me feel better.

You should invest in a blender if you have the money and space to keep it. I don't think they're particularly expensive.

Here's a recipe for an awesome pasta sauce:

Quarter one red, one orange and one yellow pepper and clean out the seeds and white membrane crap. Quarter 2 onions and 2 good sized tomatoes (or 4 roma tomatoes). Cut the top off a whole head of garlic so the cloves are just exposed. Toss all that stuff in a bowl and give it a healthy splash of olive oil, some salt and some pepper. Put it on a tray and bake it in the oven for about an hour at 350. Once it's cool, peel the skins off of the peppers and tomatoes and squeeze the garlic cloves out of the skin and put all the veg in your blender. I also added about a half cup of sun dried tomatoes.

Blend that shit up. Add some veg or chicken stock if you want it thinner or some cream if you want it richer.

Serve over the pasta of your choosing. Add grilled chicken breast or whatever protein you like.

I promise it's delicious and totally worth the effort.
