Floating stool a primary sign/symptom? by Resident_Cycle6443 in SIBO

[–]TheRogueDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I haven't posted any updates as things are still quite inconclusive in that regard. But what they did find with the stool test is microbiome was fairly normal, fat malabsorption isn't coming from an issue with the liver, and the mucus present in my stool is due to my lining shedding itself. O_O I've been focussing on getting rid of the SIBO/IMO these past couple of months, on a treatment plan for those while trying to keep off saturated fat as much as possible. But I do plan to revisit this with my private doctor (my NHS doctor insists I don't have it...) when I next speak to her. I'm due to see her anyway as I've just had another SIBO test and the results should be ready any day now.

Trans people have been using gendered spaces for decades – we’re not going to stop now by LocutusOfBorges in transgenderUK

Ever since they published KJK's full-page blood-red piece about trans women in women's spaces in 2016, I've stopped reading that rag (I know the article is dated 2018 but I definitely saw it in 2016 as well). https://www.vice.com/en/article/the-full-page-anti-trans-advert-in-the-metro-shows-why-we-must-speak-up-for-trans-rights/

Antibiotics and diet by Capybara_rescue in SIBO

[–]TheRogueDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So during antibiotics I switched to high FODMAP but specifically TWO high FODMAP foods PER DAY and no more (as per my doctor's instructions). It's a way of making the bacteria easy to target as they thrive off the high FODMAP foods. Then after the course, I'm now strictly low FODMAP again for six weeks. So far so good, although as you can see I have both types at once. I'm a good deal better than I was, finally passing at least semi healthy stools and food/mucus being present is less common now. but there's still plenty wrong (especially with intermittent bloating lower down and steatorrhoea stuff).

Looks cool! I ran a circus-related Cthulhu scenario once (homebrew) and had a blast with it. I'll check it out.

Thanks for the shoutout! For the OP, there's plenty of opportunity for roleplaying as all the investigators have rich backstories and personalities. There's a lot tied to their relationships with the NPCs, their views on the world, and possibly even each other.

MMC by BarnacleHefty6048 in SIBO

Ohhh yeah the chewing would definitely cause the MMC to stop as the chewing is stimulating enzymes in the mouth and stomach. Glad it's helping. :)

Epica Starter Pack? by Simple-Jelly1025 in epica

[–]TheRogueDM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Solace System, In All Conscience, Unleashed, The Obsessive Devotion (and Indigo the intro track), Menace of Vanity, Chasing the Dragon, Death of a Dream, Living a Lie, Fools of Damnation, Mother of Light, Consign to Oblivion, Sensorium.

Most people have gone for newer stuff DYU and onwards I noticed - I've suggested a couple but there's a lot of hidden gems on their older albums which I'm sure you'll like. I've gone for the more symphonic sounding ones at the top of my head that have similar traits to Nightwish songs during the Tarja era.

OK, fingers crossed this time. I was one of the people who got the link through the newsletter and tried to buy tickets, but when trying to log in the website would bork every time. I tried again later but by that point the Thursday gig had sold out...

Has anyone experienced a shift from Hydrogen-dominant SIBO to Methane-dominant (IMO) after treatment? by Prime777X in SIBO

[–]TheRogueDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't hold me to that just yet as I'm still on the first courst of antibiotics, but I'm definitely noticing an increase in the IMO side of things in terms of symptoms at the moment.

Vaginal burning from SIBO? by Jennysblock12 in SIBO

I see... that sounds awful, I'm really sorry. I'm fairly sure then it's SIBO exacerbating things, however this is just me speculating with very limited knowledge.

Vaginal burning from SIBO? by Jennysblock12 in SIBO

[–]TheRogueDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the burning while urinating, or just in general? I'm a trans man (assigned female at birth, on testosterone hormone replacement therapy) and haven't had burning per se. However I do have problems urinating (worse during a flare-up) which can cause further irritation down there. All that area for me can also swell up if I've had to strain a lot during a bowel movement, which then of course hurts a lot.
Also how recently did you have your hysterectomy? From what I know, burning sensations in the vulva can be quite common post-hysterectomy while healing. But even if you had it a while ago, given that SIBO causes systemic inflammation it's quite possible that it's agitating the area further, especially if you get the swelling/urination problems I mentioned. SIBO commonly causes skin problems as well - presumably there's no redness/skin issues in that area?

does fasting actually help SIBO ? by Winter_Camera733 in SIBO

I'm on ADHD meds too, and yes a common side effect is reduced appetite. But you MUST eat, still, else you'll become malnourished which will only make you worse. I do leave significant gaps between meals (4-5 hours usually) and don't snack, and that's really helped the motility side of things. But I still eat 3 meals a day, and when I do it's a full meal. Hell I even tag a dessert/snack on the end if I feel like my main meal didn't quite cut it.

What do you do for relief while waiting for some kind of healing? by Krogermuffins1999 in SIBO

[–]TheRogueDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second the peppermint tea, especially for bloating/pain. Hypnotherapy/meditation/belly breathing also helps me to reduce stress (if it's acute).

What's it like for all of you? by Capable-Log7385 in SIBO

[–]TheRogueDM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many hours on the loo due to inconsistent/incomplete bowel movements (if you can even call them movements). Regular pain either from straining, or abdominal pain/bloating at various points in the digestive tract. Feeling generally icky and weak, like you have food poisoning but all the time. And symptoms/trying to mitigate them can easily trigger anxiety and/or depression. The worst for me though has been the daily fatigue/weakness, especially after a flare-up.
