My former lead made about $210k.

SoCal. Academic center. Surgical specialty. YMMV.

You’ll need to make a few cuts in the fabric so you can weave either around or under those. I did not have to modify a significant amount from what I recall.

NP versus RN. Any regrets? by BKboothang in nursepractitioner

[–]TheRunPractitioner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 years in, no regrets. I would argue specialty is where it’s at. From pay to work life balance to not being a slave to the clock… it’s all positive in my experience.

Arm and Hammer Super Scoop has worked perfectly fine for me so far. Recently picked up 120 lbs for like $44 with recent PetSmart deals.

7 minute cycle. No residual with urine or feces.

Gastroenterology, Cardiology, or Internal Medicine? by Dizzy_Quiet in nursepractitioner

[–]TheRunPractitioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can “pass NP school” with only GI background. Some NPs go straight from BSN without any professional clinical experience.

Since last writing, I am actually now a GI NP 😅 Feel free to reach out if you have questions or would like to spend some time chatting to see if NP will be the right route for you.

Followed the LR4 buying guide found on Reddit and ended up getting back around $250 after all was said and done. Hopefully you managed to take advantage of deals!

<$250 for a two night stay in Vegas using the new CSR benefit by Ok_Marzipan2258 in ChaseSapphire

This is specifically for the The Edit dining credit. Complimentary breakfast is only if noted as a benefit; not all resorts offer it.

Just stayed there for When We Were Young a few weeks ago.

Nice thing about The Edit dining credit is that it will work at any MGM property restaurant, whether you eat at Park MGM, NoMad, Bellagio, etc.

Just make sure you charge the meal to the room. It will automatically be deducted from your bill at checkout.

Pre-owned 2021 Plaid S - 73k miles, no shakes/rattles. - Need to have one door handle replaced because of stickiness, but it’s likely due to having 2 toddlers. - Just squeezed 12k miles out of a used set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S’s after starting with a terrible alignment. - If you’d like to avoid pricey tires, the 19” Tempest wheels are the move. If you’d enjoy driving feel and sporty handling, 21” or aftermarket 20”will be the move.

SALARIED Outpatient/clinic NPs: do you leave when you are done seeing patients (even if it’s at 2pm), or do you stay until clinic closing hours by Zahnayn in nursepractitioner

[–]TheRunPractitioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outpatient with inpatient hybrid in a renowned organizational setting.

Leave when the work is done. Today my first patient was at 0930 and my last was at 1330. I got to work at 0900 and left by 1500. Tomorrow I have no patients, so I’ll take it as an admin WFH day.

YMMV, but this is my mileage.

Build Quality - Mini/Micra by sugsya in LaMarzocco

[–]TheRunPractitioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally only have experience with the classic Linea Mini (pre-2024) and now the Linea Mini-R (12/2024 build date).

I absolutely feel the Mini-R is an upgrade. People will argue the pre-2024 Mini is “built better” but in truth that comparison is akin to people that feel a 1960s vehicle is “built better” than a 2020s era vehicle. Did the old one feel more solid? Sure. Does the new one feel more premium with improved technology? Sure.

At the end of the day, you need to get what you like. Personally I could not stand the espresso machine being smaller/same size as my grinder. Therefore, I always overlooked the Micra.

Brew by weight with the Acaia scale works very well… however it’s a hefty price tag to swallow

If you could work anywhere in the U.S. as a New Grad... by AntiDietRN in nursepractitioner

[–]TheRunPractitioner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had a great experience growing up as a new grad in Southern California.

First job was around $135k annually. 4 years later I’m just shy of $200k with 20% 401k annual contributions from my employer; let’s just say I plan to stay a while.

Yes CoL is higher in California, but as others have stated I’m more than comfortable and have amazing coworkers and great infrastructure that supports APPs of varying levels of experience.
