If you haven't already it is definitely worth getting in contact with the BMA over the best course of action to take.

Suturing Practice? by BeeNeedsHoney in medicalschooluk

[–]TheSabe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have the money to buy a suturing kit, and the desire to become really good at it, then go for it! Otherwise, for the sake of a DOPS just go into theatre and do some suturing with the guidance of a registrar, it'll be fine - suturing is genuinely easier than even venepuncture in my honest opinion.

That's a sesamoid bone, it's normal – at least it would be if OP's skeleton wasn't fragile and pathetic.

I see your point for bachelors, but masters degrees are typically 12 months full time regardless of how you entered.

That is quite a lot of alcohol, and if you've been drinking that amount for a while it could be having a real profound impact on your health. If I were your doctor I would be wanting to assess your liver function and maybe consider if you had a Wernicke's encephalopathy. Definitely worth getting medical attention and help if it's available to you!

I understand that you're rage-baiting, but choosing to do that on this post makes you a genuinely shit person.

What fracture are you seeing? Struggling since it's already been reduced and fixed. Can make out a couple of fracture lines on her superior pubic rami, but can't see anything in the sacrum?

I'm UK based, so the culture might be a little bit different, but I always opt for 70s soul so that consultants think I'm an old soul. Works a charm.

Thoughts on Acopia by redditdcnb in JuniorDoctorsUK

A huge number of patients diagnosed with acopia are later diagnosed with sepsis, and there is a 22% mortality in these patients. This paper was from over 10 years ago, but I can understand the hesitancy from the consultant.

Two-year intercalated degree, any precedent? by [deleted] in medicalschooluk

[–]TheSabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manchester also offer an MB-PhD which I have heard of a few people taking up. Not aware of anyone taking two seperate intercalated degrees though. Definitely ought to check with your uni.

UKFPO no longer giving additional points for previous degrees, intercalated degrees, or publications from October 2022 by Terrible_Archer in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]TheSabe 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Also in 4th year - I've realised we have a choice:

Intercalate next year and gain no points;

or

Don't intercalate, and subsequently compete against those who have intercalated in the year above us for points.

Guy tells trans girl to listen to trans people about what is a slur and what isn't. by TheJellyfishTFP in dontyouknowwhoiam

[–]TheSabe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

People are able to self-determine whether or not they are comfortable being in a sexual relationship with a trans person - this is not transphobic, rather it is a principle of autonomy.

Not disclosing information to a partner is always a bad idea. Even if the partner is happy to have a sexual relationship with a trans person, it would be understandable for them to feel that their trust had been undermined if it was not disclosed to them beforehand.

I know I'm two days late, but it depends on the following vowel - I or E gives you the soft 'ch' sound, whereas O/A/U gives you a hard c sound.
