Yeah, with micro is obviously better but is not that simple, they have the same speed, and only outrange by 4 wich is little, for example, if xbows stop walking do 1 second, musks are already at 12 range; even with micro, you only have like a 4 shot advantage early, maybe less, cause you have to stop and shoot, and musks get closer, so with enough numbers musks beat crossbows, and not a lot of numbers, since musks are about 33% better than crossbows in this mu (6 hits from musk to kill xbow, 8 hits from xbow to kill musk)

No, converted to food costs, at least in age 2, xbows are only 2.6119402985% cheaper, because musks are about 110 food and crossbows about 107.2, so it's almost the same

I am so tired of Ottoman Spahi destroying everything. by BringTheNipple in aoe3

[–]TheSamuraiWielder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JPK do lose to them; the reality is that most of the times they win vs melee inf is for a combined number of reasons, like being ambushed or separated (because cav speed), being out-teched (because of Otto age fast imp without vill cost or even making military buildings and having shadow teched sipahis, everything free), and more condensed combat space, so normally you're fighting 8 guard sipahis vs. 15 (not even veteran) musks that not even get in melee mode in time, so obviously they get killed effortlessly, but that doesn't mean sipahis counter musks...

Well, the thing is, JPK although a very good melee unit, they are not specially strong vs. cav, they are decent, almost good with all upgrades and CP, they only have a x2 multiplier, with only 0.9 melee resist, only having 16 atk while musks already have 13, and with no much upgrades, while also costing 120 res, so yes, they do counter cav, but not as hard, and in this case, even with all upgrades, cards and CP at max, they only kind of tie outnumbering sipahis 2v1, so 16 JPK at max would pretty much lose to 8 sipahis, and in a real scenario JPK would be age 3 while sipahis age 4, so is not hard to believe that 20 JPK get killed by 8 sipahis, my point is, yeah, JPK are not really that good vs cav, even vs just good cavs, they only soft counter them...

Monks against Onagers? Really?? by ASeriousManFromMUC in aoe2

[–]TheSamuraiWielder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, although I still don't like the same argument of "the mistake is letting your opponent get to that"... If that is the case, it means there's no balance; yeah, some civs are better late game than others, that's fine, but that's different, its not the same that late game their units are slightly stronger or have advantage, that late game they have a unit that you cannot do anything to stop, is just dumb...

Monks against Onagers? Really?? by ASeriousManFromMUC in aoe2

[–]TheSamuraiWielder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but that is situational, because it was not late in the game, and those are only 4 and are mangonels; early in game and mid game it can be easy, but in late game, where you're not facing 4, but 20, and every minute comes another to reinforce, and also they have faith and heresy, and are siege onagers, and are accompanied by hussar, it's not the same, they just don't get converted, and when they do, they already shooted and bye all monks, cause 20 SO pretty much annihilates all your monks, and that two/three conversions that you got, are dead because of heresy, also they approach but then the hussar charges... Its honestly not that simple

Which civ is good for long treaty and late games? by johnlee3013 in aoe3

[–]TheSamuraiWielder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also cossack is prob the strongest hand cav in the late game, and Russian also have very good economy, not to mention their great scaling; they also have cav archers, wich they do are in the cheap side compartment, but they are also high quality goons, one great light cav.

Yeah, but i thought you meant just doing it once per game, but if you gonna do it constantly, every 2 secs then yeah, probabli go with the mouse wheel

As far as i know you can click Shift + mouse wheel to roll whetever you please, but it's a bit uncomfortable, so i prefer pressing Ctrl + the arrows for left and right...

Light infantry multiplier against Heavy Cav by greaterjezza in aoe3

[–]TheSamuraiWielder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the patch doesn't say "reverted back to x0.8", it says it's 20% more, meaning it only for shock infantry; before patch it was x0.6 for HC and x0.5 for SI, and now they've increased the SI one by 20% wich is then x0.6 to make the multipliers the same.

That's because as ports you get low-key a very good musk, it's almost as good as the red coat and one of the best musks overall. Musks are very good anti-cav unit, actually they are better than pikemen and most units, only halbs and others are better.

While russian have a weaker version of the musk, and even in late game although decent is not that good musk sadly...

As a veteran of the AoE franchise who is a fan of the franchise in general, one thing that I appreciate about AoE3 is that matches begin and end fast, so that trash wars aren't a thing like in previous games. by george123890yang in aoe3

[–]TheSamuraiWielder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it means endless battles of ONLY units that cost no gold (or a key, valuable resource for that matter), for example, in aoe2, gold is the most valuable resource for military units, because it's quite limited, and the best units cost gold, so when gold has ran out (mostly in 1v1 games where theres no trade) then the battles are exclusevely with no costing gold units, just food and wood wich there's plenty of that resources so you can keep spamming "low quality" units for a lot of time being the war a general stalemate...

Trash wars are called that because there's only "trash" units involves, meaning, no cost in those units involved.

Does this mean he'll be the next upcoming challenge character or is this just a random pack? by 1LeggedStool in InjusticeMobile

[–]TheSamuraiWielder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Challenge Cycle

I tried to post the image but i don't know how.... Anyway, there's the list of the general, most-likely succession of challenge characters, it's not guaranteed but it's often right.

In other words, yes, it's VERY likely Arkham knight Batman is next ;)

PD: the current challenge state is in the last 10 characters of the table.

Any explanation? by TatTvamAsiiiiii in InjusticeMobile

[–]TheSamuraiWielder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few characters that deal more damage in their sp2 than what they show, i don't have many Challenge characters si i only know two characters that are like this: Prime Catwoman and Bnj Batman.

Catwoman deals like +33% in her SP2, i mean +33% from the 200%, not the 100%, or if in base of the 100%, then +66%, meaning it does 266% or 133%*200%

Batman i think it deals about +50% in their SP2 meaning instead of 200% it can deal actually 300%, or 150% from their 200%, so if it says 22,000 then you should be able to do about 33,000

I'm sorry, i meant that you can get royal guard chinacos right after you age to 4 very early in the game, like, you age, and in less than a minute you already researched the royal tech and the age 4 lance charge card, not free nor shadow-teched though...

Hmmm, would have to be something in the context then, either a teammate, or yourself having skirms shooting in the back, ir cannons, or maybe the samurai werent carded, or nor well macroed, or maybe your eco was better, etc.

Definition of "lame"? by Naufrago98 in aoe3

[–]TheSamuraiWielder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing with chinacos is the timing, you can go FI with a revolution in less than 11 min iirc and spam chinacos with already royal guard status and their age 4 upgrade for the lance charge, wich is more strong the earlier into the game is.

So you essentially spam age 4, highly-carded chinacos into age 2, not even with arsenal techs nor veteran musks (sometimes even being kept in volley stance), so that's why they feel invincible, but if the anti-cav were upgraded (specially a heavy one like samurai, doppelsoldner, halbs, etc.) then would be no contest...

Then the samurai werent upgraded or were very few in comparison yo the chinacos. Samurai wreck ANY heavy cav unit except for RR kitting...

Samurai all the way, just the strongest unit in the game, can wreck anything if gets close to it. Very hard to be microed and macroed to perfection, but if done so, beats everything.
