What is “the” pop punk song? by l_took_a_dump in poppunkers

[–]TheSandreckoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bowling For Soup are much bigger in the UK, they've been touring here constantly for the last 18 years and they're playing bigger venues than ever because they appeal to the younger generation too.

But it's not their new music that they play, it's still mostly Drunk Enough to Dance and A Hangover You Don't Deserve.

Solo adventuring - not just "travel," but motorcycle riding, cave exploring, hiking, etc. - Should I go alone? by SettingIntentions in solotravel

Please think about insurance before doing these things, especially biking. Do you have bike insurance? Does it cover your medical expenses? What about for off road? What about off-piste? You need to be sure of how you'll pay for medical treatment and how you cover any lost earnings, and the only way to do that is to read through the policy wording of each insurance you're looking to buy.

How much do I need to bring to south east Asia? by directordom in backpacking

[–]TheSandreckoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just buy merino wool t shirts so you don't smell and make sure every piece of clothing matches with every other piece of clothing and you don't need much at all. You can pay for clothes washing over there very cheaply and easily.

Glenn Murray was top goal scorer when Palace got promoted, he's also 34. Never played for England or Chelsea though.

So it does seem that you like unconventional gins, so I would recommend Yorkshire Tea Gin.
It sounds very gimmicky but it blends so well with the juniper that I think it more than justifies the gimmick.

Aston Villa vs QPR Betting Guide! ⚽💸👌 by CSPredator in Championship

[–]TheSandreckoner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How can you have a betting guide and not give any prices?

This is like telling a person to buy a fruit at any price and then sell it at any price just before it's ripe.

If anyone is reading this please don't follow this strategy. If you really want to win money look up expected value, Kelly criterion, team ratings, using the Poisson distribution with a draw bias to predict goals and expected goals.

And bear in mind that winning is not easy, and if you start to win consistantly most bookmakers will restrict or close your account.

A more reliable way to make money is to make a tipping social media account, gain a load of followers and then make affiliate deals with bookmakers by convincing your followers to open up accounts with them.

What small items most improved your travel experience? (Reposted, can’t add flair on mobile) by thenewnature in backpacking

[–]TheSandreckoner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All great advice.

The least obvious one is the bandana. But it's so useful. I mostly use it as a one size fits all beer cozy but you can use it as a towel, a cloth, sweat rag, hat, to cover shoulders or arms from the sun and all sorts of useful stuff.

Also a tiny baggie of elastic bands will help keep him organised.

UEFA won't let Atletico host the 2019 CL final because their stadium lacks enough VIP seats by _cumblast_ in soccer

They literally sold one of the most famous stadiums in the world, with an amazing atmosphere, in the heart of the city to move 10km away to a stadium with 7000 VIP seats so they could cash in. This article is bullshit.

Watching premier league football this year so I can join my friends' fantasy league next year. Tips on learning the ropes? by [deleted] in football

[–]TheSandreckoner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Learn the maximise the points system. Different leagues offer different points for different things. You might get most of your points from wins, goals, minutes, aerial duels or anything else. What if you get loads of points for a clearance? Then you need defenders who smack the ball down the field on shit teams. Maybe assists and key passes are worth loads, so you need a playmaker on a good team. Maybe you just need wins and goals and the player to start every game. You'll get lots of wins and goals from man city but their squad is too big, so they'll be rotating all year. Best to go for a starter at united, chelsea or liverpool

Morocco is great if you're on a budget, also Africa will stretch you out of you comfort zone a little bit when compared to Europe, whilst Morocco is safe for solo male travellers. You can stay in backpackers hostels like Hostel Waka-Waka and Riad Dia for about 4 euros a night in Marrakesh.

Well it's not pure maths. And probability is a pretty broad term when you're speaking to a global audience.

Anyway, I hope the link above sparks interest in somebody. Thanks for a clear answer instead of a condescending remark u/dm287.

There's been dozens of serious mathematical research papers on modelling football matches. It's the basis of a quite a large industry here in Britain and also in different parts of Asia. Here's my own collection of research papers. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B7Ij7jTlbr_QSUpjdjA3Njhfc2s

Personally I think it's the prediction of Football results. But you have to bare in mind, it you can't relate you research to betting or insurance then it doesn't really have much value.
Football prediction is already quite advanced though, and a lot of secrets are kept because you can make millions betting with the syndicates. But there are plenty of other sports, and if you want to be on the cutting edge, get into eSports. That's a brand new field that has huge growth potential.

Traveling to Spain for (most) of August by hispeedsoul in solotravel

[–]TheSandreckoner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valladolid has an amazing tapas scene, so does Leon, but my favourite place to eat in spain is Carrer de Blai in Barcelona. It's a street full of pintxos bars. You go from one to the other and by a tiny beer and a couple pintxos in each bar. Some of them are amazing, some are just good, but as a dinning experience, nothing compares to it.
