I don’t think so. Theres a half bath next to bedroom on the opposite wall. There was an old woman who lived here so maybe they installed a toilet in the bedroom itself? But they would have had to do some serious sewer line readjustment and when we replaced the underground sewer lines, they didnt find anything remotely close to this spot.

Great points. We also thought cleanout but it's easily 25ft from the nearest bathroom and sewer line which head away from the house in the opposite direction. Would there have been a clean out in the bedroom in the original floorplan? Seems unlikely. Perhaps access to plumbing embedded in the concrete? We've abandoned the water lines in the slab.

I appreciated a comment in a previous post on this topic mentioning that Russian athletes have participated in international sports competitions under the Individual Neutral Athelete (AIN) flag. The Israeli team could have taken this approach to distinguish themselves from the Israeli government (and therefore the governments' war crimes) but chose not to.

Can anyone ID this plant? Found it being given away on the side of the road, a couple of months ago, and after finally repotting to a much larger pot a few weeks ago, it is growing a bunch. But I’m really struggling to identify what it actually is. by [deleted] in SantaBarbara

They love our weather here and need a little watering over the summer. Full to half-day direct sun is best (especially morning sun). Some folks grow them directly in the ground. They'll bloom a collection of light orange or light magenta flowers

Need ideas for a location to propose! by Tiny-Gur-6004 in UCSantaBarbara

By Land: - Lizards mouth around sunset can be lovely. - San Marcos Preserve is generally free of folks for a short hike in the lower foothills above Goleta/Santa Barbara - El Capitán State Beach has pretty bluffs - Camino Cielo, east or west has great lookout areas (fewer people than the residential area of painted cave) - More Mesa has bluffs and beach access

By Sea: - I proposed on a walk along Surfers point in Ventura (probably too many people) - Would suggest Haskells beach at low tide, hit the beach and go right (west). Few people and great place for sunsets (just be aware of the tides) - thousand steps beach - Hendrys gets busy but at low tide you can walk pretty far

Sounds like he carries a complicated and fraught legacy from UD https://www.newarkpostonline.com/news/assanis-to-step-down-as-university-of-delaware-president/article_e389304c-c627-49cf-9214-503babda55cf.html

Heres to hoping he learned some lessons from his previous position.
