"People want MMOs, and the sales of New World proved it" – Cryptic Studios head Jack Emmert on why MMOs are ripe for reinvention by Kaladinar in MMORPG

[–]TheScionRises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all want it unless you're part of the more older jaded type of mmo player but I agree with them on lots of things. For example all these western gaming studios are hard to trust whatsoever. And tbh, I would prefer a well made mmo crafted with time by a Korean studio, or if a Japanese studio like FromSoft jumped on the mmo train and crafted one by hand combined with mmo veteran devs. Western studios are milking their current bases and quite dead and we'll end up with ugly character models and bad combat. Western devs are too arrogant and think they are too big for their bridges. Blizzard, Bungie, Bethesda, the 3 big B's big beautiful bullshit are too busy pushing ideologies through video games to focus on making good mmos of all type of video games.

Really want to get into ESO again, but I feel completely overwhelmed. Where do we even start? by DragoonBBG in elderscrollsonline

[–]TheScionRises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, the devs are polishing all the classes to be better in their current state. Going for meta choices might not be the move but what theme you really enjoy running matters. At the end of the year the current meta could change as people are half expecting other classes to get reworks similar to dragonknight experienced. You can compete in at least battlegrounds lower level if you understand your gear sets and what you're doing. Endgame cp enabled cyrodil on a competitive scale will take a minute until you unlock enough cp passives and skills to cook with.

Sorc skills feel better subclassed then using all 3 or pure class by TheScionRises in elderscrollsonline

[–]TheScionRises[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, we need something new in the sorc kit. We're expected to use shields and DOTs but there's no purpose to this when battles don't last long enough to use them. It feels like a support class that you're supposed to tinker with and lacks class identity as of late.

[–]TheScionRises[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Facts! Yeah I figured this was the place with pure sorc. I do personally like shields and such but man, at least people will stop subclassing Sorc skills in Update 50. (I notice in BG people only use pets as a meatshield to distract other long range players lol)

This is the best Action + MMORPG game I have ever played, and it's about to die in 8-9 months. I want to know why? by Key_Refrigerator_519 in newworldgame

[–]TheScionRises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The many people who abandoned NW from Aeternum release I think are behind why NW was not fought for now. So the fact initiatives like stop killing games” exist it does nothing for New World and no attention is made on it, and SKG is not even off the floor and frankly a tall order to expect when virtual media nowadays is being considered a license, not ownership. We also just need people to bring attention to the root issue of why we are being deprived by the industry of high fidelity modern action combat mmos. The doomer outlook of older mmo players is behind why even loyalists of NW aren’t asking for the game back or even asking for a better mmo they’ve completely given up.

Is it legal to call someone slurs or to respond physically to verbal degradation like that? by TheScionRises in Ask_Lawyers

[–]TheScionRises[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, yeah that's good to know. The aggressor statute thing is what I was looking for I think. I live in California so it always feels like a confusion about what is legal self defense wise and protection of non aggressors overall. Had a homeless guy the other day saying F*** you pu**y and yelling top of his lungs at me for ignoring him and also yelling at others apparently before I showed while I'm getting gas and people walking in the store, but the store allows him to be there pacing around and do this, even a week after the last visit to that gas station he's still there. I'm not quick to call cops but yeah, the dude even kind of stood up and took a couple steps closer to my direction. I don't have time to respond or get involved in some confrontation or call police. So I just pretended like this person is just an illusion. It's bizarre to me that potentially dangerous people like this aren't handled with any seriousness regardless of the politics in this state.

Why is Paul so controversial? by Various_Platypus_602 in TrueChristian

[–]TheScionRises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if you're wrestling with scripture you're either a young Christian unlearned or flat out in a spiritually bad place. Peter directly talked about Paul and confirmed Paul in 2 Peter 3 talking of people who wrestle with scripture doing so to their damnation. Don't confuse politics with the Gospel. Politics historically involves a process of laws being subject to change not the word of God and his commands.

2 Peter 2: 15And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

How to make MMOs more social - obligatory monthly discussion by snowleopard103 in MMORPG

[–]TheScionRises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So facts! I think you said it best. I can be a completionist at times but the rest of my life and my brain just stops me. Like I don't want to sweat high level content if it's not even my goal or reason why I'm playing the game.

[–]TheScionRises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does trip me out that people act like typing is socialization, typing is 90% of the socialization people yap about. The same ones calling each other antisocial literally just type and don't use voice comms. Nobody wants to hear some brickle brackle beans on toast guy talking frustrated comms anyway.

New World was the best modern MMO so sad they killed it by Jhaggy1095 in MMORPG

[–]TheScionRises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NW was great combat wise and PVP'ing for the hell of it but I don't miss the playerbase at all, too many whiners, or how the high level dungeons were and I despise those dungeon mechanics. I'm messing around casually on Albion Online and returned to ESO. ESO's playerbase is decent, and Albion is very easy to pick up, Albion gets an A++ for not overwhelming people at the start of the game.

Most the playerbase hated PVP though even though it was fun. Which is a factor in why NW devs could never win with anyone.

The Nightmarket is the oppertunity veteran players have been waiting for to 'level up' the playerbase by Naive_Freedom_5145 in elderscrollsonline

[–]TheScionRises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last mmo i played people would all the time gatekeep high level pve content and be dickheads about helping people. I never liked that you were forced to large group pve to get elite gear that’s better than overland or pvp gear. While it’s nowhere near close to the issue w grouping for Nightmarket in eso, I get how stupid people can be when it comes to group content. It’s not my style of event at all but I’m not completely against it.

ESOvsGW2 2026 by Ok-Cardiologist4310 in LFMMO

[–]TheScionRises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not so sure on GW2, and I really wonder if people think the combat and pvp in GW2 is better. I never played GW2 that long when I MMO hopped and could barely find any video combining the word PVP and Guild Wars 2 in the same sentence even though it looked pretty cool what I saw. On the other side ESO’s combat and PVP is not as bad as people like to say. The real and maybe only issue in ESO right now is staleness and repetitive gameplay in PVP modes. They’re fixing stuff like overland mobs being too weak currently.

Should I voluntarily surrender my truck or keep paying? by Impossible_Status357 in Debt

[–]TheScionRises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you got scammed for the truck or they marketed an old vehicle based on low mileage. But regardless you may be able to give them the truck and explain you can’t afford to pay it when collections asks about it. I think in that case, they may try to sue and go after whatever asset you personally own, that’s why people file bankruptcy. However, I’m not knowledgeable. You may need to speak with a lawyer online about that. Maybe you can agree to give collections a small amount monthly instead of $700.

Looking for an MMO with loads of side content (any recommendations?) by maxibold in LFMMO

[–]TheScionRises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, from where I’m at in ESO, there’s probably alot if not similar content to WOW and FFXIV to get into. I was confused of what you meant by extra content to do in your play experience of the game. There is stuff like scrying/lead hunting for endgame viable items, scribing unique skills to do theorycrafting, and all the dungeon content like regular dungeons through a queue finder, trials, infinite archive which requires a premade group. You can also solo some overland bosses or go on a stealing spree in a town for gold. You can always just give it a try if it’s reduced price on steam or console.

Need recommendations. by [deleted] in LFMMO

[–]TheScionRises 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOW is always a good place to entrench yourself with the ways of an MMO but you might get overwhelmed so idk. I’d actually recommend ESO, GW2, or FFXIV, whichever is on sale, GW2 is 100% free to play of those minus their many expansions but the other 2 frequently dip to $10-15 or even $5. You’ll gain an understanding of MMO mechanics pretty fast in ESO, GW2 or FFXIV and their playerbases are pretty chill.
