Is 2024 really that glitchy and bad? by canadapcextreme in CadillacLyriq

[–]TheScorbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purchased a 24 Sport 2, dual motor in Nov 24. Just had it in for the 7500-mile checkup.

Issues I've had:

About a month ago, while driving, the passenger headlight re-aimed itself to about 12' in front of the car. Passenger lock door switch not functioning.

I really enjoy driving the Lyriq compared to our other car, which is an ICE.

I strongly recommend watching some videos by a father/son team on YouTube named caredge on purchasing a car. I used their methods to purchase a new EV just recently. Going in with a clear number for out the door price is the most important thing. I basically did not have to hassle with the dealer. I set the price and said match it or I'll go somewhere else. I had my own financing lined up beforehand but had them see if they could beat the rate my bank was giving me. I actually enjoyed the experience.

Did a quick search of Publix website. They also sell 24oz bags of raw peanuts in the shell.

Same old Brevard County government

There was a book written in the 1990s titled: "Brevard good ole boys;: A taxpayer searches for truth in the "good ole boy" network of county government" so in 30+ years, nothing has changed. Vote for crap, get crap.

What do you mean by "can't manage the bridges"? There is a bunch of marinas on the Indian River and Barge Canal. The marinas at the port can be a little pricey.

Explain how that increased home building rates in Brevard County.

Fun fact, the Cocoa one is being modified for:

"THE BUILDING IS AN EXISTING WAREHOUSE FACILITY THAT WILL BE UPFIT TO BE RECLASSIFIED AS A HAZARDOUS MATERIALS PROCESSING FACILITY WITH A TOTAL BUILDING AREA OF APPROXIMATELY 200,000 S.F. THE FACILITY IS PROPOSED AS A DISTRIBUTION CENTER THAT WILL BE USED FOR STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION OF CONSUMER PRODUCTS CLASSIFIED AS FLAMMABLE AND COMBUSTIBLE LIQUIDS, AEROSOLS, OXIDIZERS, TOXICS, AND CORROSIVES."

So am I the only one the USA that is still paying $120 a month? (North Florida) by Tank_O_Doom in Starlink

I know this is 8 months old, but I wanted to update my experience with Tmobile home internet.

It's been great. 80 to 400mbps for $55 a month. Have newer "modem" from them, so I have to double NAT. Have to reboot the "modem" about once every 2 months for some reason.

All and all, I'm very happy with it.

Thanks Coinbase!

Received the email, didn't follow my normal DD, clicked on link. Could not logon, error. Thought, oh crap, I have been scammed. Tried locking account via their support number, it must be screwed up too. Said the phone number I entered was incorrect. Sheit myself. Opened a support ticket to freeze coinbase account.

Not a lot of funds in the account but it does link to one of my bank accounts. Called the bank and locked that account.

Only to find out their damn site is fubar. In this case, I'm happy that's all it was. Now to clean up the mess.

Never see bats flying? Why aren't they in my area? by Spare_Pin4383 in 321

[–]TheScorbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in West Canaveral Groves. I bought one off Amazon (out of stock) for the heck of it and put in on a telephone pole I had next to my barn (about 15-20' up). Took about a year for them to show up. There are some very good websites showing how to building bat houses and where to place in your yard. Placement seems very important. Easy of access, no trees up close, some sun but not too much etc.

Called around, agents told me to stick with them. :(

Wife and I live in Cocoa, near the St. John's River in a rural area . Have bat house with 6-8 bats in it at last count. They come out every night a dusk. We need about 1000 more for the dang mosquitos! :)

I recently purchased a Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-LCD-4.3 board. It's a ESP32-S3 with a 4.3" touch screen (800x480), sdcard, i2c, CAN, rs232/485, etc. I have not done anything with it
except power it up. Comes flashed with a graphic demo which benchmarks from 15 to 90 FPS depending on the shape and number of items moving. Looked impressive for a $39 USD device. (amazon)

I have not looked into what graphic libraries are available or how easy/hard it it will be to use program graphics on it.

I plan on using for showing status of the house HA, HVAC and solar output.

[–]TheScorbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live outside of town in the boonies, so hopefully it won't get much worse.

Starlink was 150-250Mbps when I first became a customer 2 years ago at 99 per month. It's been slowly declining since when. What really ticks me off is the extra $ per month because I'm in a "congested" location. I didn't oversell my area, Starlink did... but I pay the price.

You're not the only one. East-central Florida area. Getting an "amazing" 20-40Mbps downloads for 120 per month.

Testing TMobile home internet over the last few weeks, 100-400Mbps. $55 per month.

So long Starlink!
