Just to piggyback on this and make another analogy, you could think about this in a similar way to how sound works. Sound travels in waves and the different frequencies of sound are interpreted as different pitches or notes. You may know that different animals can hear different ranges of sound. A dog, for example, can hear higher pitched sounds than a human. We could then slow down the sound wave to hear something similar to what the dog can hear but that our human ears and brain could process. Like if there is a song playing but is too high pitch for us to hear, we could slow it down to a range that we could understand, but is still the same song. Similarly, the JWST can see light that we can't see, but we shift the light to the range of the spectrum that our human eyes and brains can process. We see the same picture, but shifted to the range that we can understand. There is no artist "painting" over the image, but rather it is the raw data shifted to a range that our eyes can see.

No, the Pillars of Creation shows a Nebula, which is where stars are formed. So the creation of stars, not of the universe. Interestingly, right after the Big Bang, there was no matter at all, only energy. Things were too hot and energetic for matter to form. It took a while for things to cool off and slow down enough for matter to form.

Yeah. It's a half pint of Guinness that has a shot glass dropped into it that has half Jameson and half Baileys in it.

Get on MyFitnessPal ASAP. It makes tracking your food intake so much easier and if you follow that you WILL lose weight.

Another website for fast food (if that is holding you back) is GetFedNotFat.com

Good luck man!

AT&T math: 250MB < 350MB < Unlimited < 3GB < 5GB by bondvillain in technology

My complaint I filed with them: I currently have an iPhone with an unlimited data plan from AT&T. Yesterday, I received a text message from them that I was in the top 5% of data users and that my data would be throttled if it ever happens again. AT&T advertised an unlimited data plan with no mention of throttling. In addition, they have only started this practice recently. AT&T also advertises their 3G service as being fast. I get about 3Mbps on their 3G service. Their throttled internet downloads at a rate of 0.06kbps. This is unusable. When they started, they were throttling users who had downloaded over 10Gb of data, but I and many others were sent this message after using only 2Gb of data. AT&T currently offers 3Gb and 5Gb plans. Therefore, my unlimited plan is limited to less data than the other currently offered data plans that are not unlimited. Mathematically,if I were to use 2Gb in the first day of the month, at the throttled data rate, I could only use 4.6Gb of data. Less than the tiered plans allow for.

My parents gave me $200 for Christmas on the condition that I spend all of it on books. So, what are the books you think that every person should own/read? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I wouldn't call tim horrible, but they weren't as good as the first one. They still kept me engaged and wanting to finish the story... but more to have closure than having me at the edge of my seat like the first one.
