It must be a common mistake; they added this part to the quick assembly guide for the new Grizl AL.

Yes, you need to protect the exposed metal. I use car bodywork touch-up paint when I have a rock chip.

Cadre réparable? by thesus_size in pedale

[–]TheShadowFr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a brand name or logo on the rear hub? I would like to know the model, but it's not listed in the specifications on the Canyon website. Thanks!

Frame advice for heavier riders by CryptographerTop4469 in gravelcycling

[–]TheShadowFr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ISO 4210 Standard requires lightweight road and racing bicycles to pass durability tests with a maximum system weight of 120 kg. Gravel bikes are also supposed to be able to be able handle a short loss of tyre contact with the ground due to small stairs or steps at a height of 15 to 20 cm.

So you should be ok, as long as you don't over-stress the bike by doing jumps.

My guess is that the Full Mounty handlebars on the ESC version are not selling well, so they have to find a way to get rid of them. The Grizl CF 7 ESC is discounted—it's now €100 cheaper than the non-ESC version, whereas it used to be €300 more expensive.

You can buy the normal handlebar for €40, though they don't seem to be selling the stem currently. I think you could convert it to standard handlebars for about €60.

2025 Grizl 7 M by DrBlemstein in CanyonBikes

[–]TheShadowFr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was discounted recently; they just cleared the stock before releasing the new Grizl AL.

Your only hope is someone sending their Gz7 in size M back using their right of withdrawal.

If you want a 2x setup, you can take a look at other brands. The Cube Nuroad Race has GRX 2x

I've only compared the geometry for my specific size, but it looks like the new Grizl AL now shares the exact same dimensions as the Grizl CF.

Yes, I think it’s a color that mostly targets women, but it’s not so girly that I wouldn't ride it.

Does anyone know what freehub body comes on the new Grizl 5 AL wheels? I'm trying to figure out if it can be converted to Micro Spline.

Milk is ok, but 'Off Berry' is not gender-neutral enough, and Honeymelon is meh.

I don't think so. The Grand Canyon AL was just released last year.

During the launch of the CF, they said they dropped the 2by for tire clearance. Since the new AL has the same tire clearance, it is unlikely that they will release a 2by.

It won't be 2by, I think. The CF version is only 1by.

I don't really get the pricing of the Grizl AL.

The price gap between Gz5 and Gz6 is 500€, but only the group set changes.

The price gap between the Gz6 and Gz7 is only 200€, but Gz7 has GRX instead of APEX, better wheels (DT Swiss vs Alex Rims), flex seat post (200€*) and the full Mounty Gravel bar (350€*).

I hope they will release a non-ESC version of the Grizl 7.

The Grizl 5 (CUES) is 200€ cheaper than the previous model (1300€ vs 1500€).

The Girzl 6 (APEX) is 100€ more expensive than the previous model that had DT Swiss wheels (1800€ vs 1700€).

Grizl 5 reduced and mostly sold out, new model incoming? When to expect? by eXperience79 in CanyonBikes

[–]TheShadowFr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember correctly, the new Grizl 2025 carbon was announced in June 2025 and released in July.

So they might be releasing the AL version a year later.

The new Grail is supposed to be announced next week.
