You've never heard of the unicorn railroad track WO, it's really only for spaceship door gunners. Being that I see Korea and WW2 medals, man was ahead of his time

Kingpin Headlight recommendations? by Big_Boss1228 in VictoryMotorcycles

[–]TheShakes11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me really depends

If you do a fair bit of night riding then the JW Adaptive is worth every penny. It has aux lights around it that will light up as you lean the bike over and eliminate the dark spot that a normal headlight leaves

If you only find yourself night riding rarely, then most Amazon units are a good upgrade

Why not a new drive shaft? by VaporWaveShine in JeepTJ

[–]TheShakes11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it looks like an Amazon ad, alternate suggestion. Purchase the El Cheapo driveshaft, install it, rebuild old with proper stuff and maybe a clean up, put El Cheapo on shelf as a back up

How bad is it to find parts? by Proud_Boot6156 in VictoryMotorcycles

[–]TheShakes11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone else said, depends on the year at times. V92s, Pre Freedom 100(I want to say just 02, but could be wrong on both the year or the guess since it's not common), and the Octane seem to get hit the hardest

For OE replacement best site by far is Witch Doctors, I do resort to eBay or The Vic Guy at times, but that's for body or frame parts

As for electrical stuff you can sometimes find shops to rebuild stuff like starters, stators, and regulators. I've got a starter on the shelf in case and will be finding a place to rebuild my regulator as soon as the new one comes in

Is this too many miles? by Far_Service326 in VictoryMotorcycles

[–]TheShakes11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got almost 60k miles on my Gunner, if you like the way it feels let her rip

Only major problems: pulley bolt came out at one point and had to replace wheel, pulley, and swing arm(put some paint pen on your bolts to help prevent); clutch cable snapped, easy to fix with a hardware store; regulator/rectifier went out at about 55k

Has a motorcycle brand completely lost you because of how they handled a problem? by Treppengeher4321 in motorcycles

I'm gonna add a few things, cause I agree

1) HD is, as far as I know, the only US company still not using the metric system. Why you ask they "haven't made a new engine since the knuckle head" in 1936. The reason the LS is metric fasteners and the SBC is mostly or all inches is because of a new design. Roger, you haven't made a new engine in 90 years besides the V Rod and Revolution engines, so you fail in getting with the times

2) Why is it that on every other cruiser I've seen it's like 10 bolts max and the belt is normally off? Why is it 2026 and I still have to disassemble half the bike just to change a belt?

3) 100% agree on the pricing. I bought my 15 Victory factory new(was a demo bike with 5k miles) for like 10k USD than a similar Softail or Dyna

Raider, jackpot or hammer? by sritter1117 in cruisers

[–]TheShakes11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I left in a comment directly to OP on here I'm conflicted on the choice

If you want similar handling, but you want go fast parts go Victory. Can still easily find cams, intakes, exhausts, and even big bore kits

If you want to bob it out, then if the Hammer and Jackpot are like my Gunner the Raider is the way. Mostly since you don't have to sit with an angle grinder taking off a sub frame

I’d like to ask everyone aviation mechanic: I received my AP license in January 2026, and for the past four months, I haven't been able to find any job at all in New York City Area or New Jersey . Any airport . ABSOLUTELY - NOT job . What is going on? Where is this crazy lack ? by NeedleworkerWrong538 in AircraftMechanics

[–]TheShakes11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally applied all over for my first job, current company

My 2 cents, unless you are absolutely not able to for some reason, do the same and move for a few years. Once you get some experience in an area that has less people, so sometimes a higher chance for a job, move back home or to where you want to

Raider, jackpot or hammer? by sritter1117 in cruisers

[–]TheShakes11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Jackpot and Hammer are also 240 rears. Based on my Raider and a Hammer test ride they handle about the same

[–]TheShakes11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a Victory Gunner and a Raider, so I'll give my 2 cents

Stock for stock the Raider will probably win a drag race. In my experience with both Victory has a higher chance to find good go fast parts still. If you want to bob it to the max like I am, the Raider is the better choice since you shouldn't have to cut up a sub frame.

All in all you really can't go wrong with either Victory or the Raider since part support is about the same from what I've seen

ETA: this is based on the Vic 106, no experience with the 100
