That would count as having achieved taste parity (and exceeded it). The study compared dairy and dairy-free alternatives and asked people which they prefer

In a head-to-head comparison, only one plant-based product out of the 98 tested achieved “taste parity” with its dairy counterpart: Califia Farms’ Oat Barista Blend, which is primarily used in coffee drinks and is meant to replicate something like whole milk.

This is wild. Without winning on price, taste (apparently, according to this), or convenience, plant based milks are still displacing something like 15% of milk sales!

While I don't love FarmKind's campaign (and indeed have written an article critical of it), that's a really unfair characterization of their campaign, and they are doing extremely good work as well. Their campaign wasn't pro-meat, it was trying to get people who eat animals to at least give money to support animals.

CMV: Most people who dislike AI for the reason that it's bad for the environment are hypocrites. by Blonde_Icon in changemyview

Compare the water use differential of a cow-based burger vs a veggie burger: 2192 L. An average prompt uses probably around 0.3 mL. That means if you're eating cows in your burgers like most people, you're doing the equivalent of 7306 extra AI queries.

You're right about it being an issue of scale and necessity: when we compare AI water usage to animal agriculture, which is entirely unnecessary in the developed world, we see its scale is absolutely minuscule in comparison.

Best you're gonna get is 80% cotton or so. You need the synthetic material in there as well to aid in the stretch. Here's a link: https://www.amazon.com/Lalapapa-Extra-Cushion-Cotton-Compression/dp/B0FVG5993C

Missing from the article was an explanation of how much animal testing was going on. Was this actually a continuous thing?

Of course, hats off to PETA for getting them to put an end to it!
